Lille Win French Soccer Title For Season 2020-21.
Lille (also known as Lille Olympique Sporting Club) have defeated Angers 2-1 in their final league game of the season to claim the French title.
This is the fourth time that Lille have won the French title.
Although Olympique Lillois also won two French titles before they merged with SC Fives to create the present Lille Olympique Sporting Club .
So some argue that Lille have won 6 titles, rather than just four.
Lille in their history have also won 6 French Cups.
Lille Olympique Sporting Club are based in the city of Lille in French Flanders, in Northern France. Lille is located near the Belgian - French border.
The 2019-2020 Champions Paris Saint-Germain finished in second place despite beating Brest by 2- goals to zero in their final league game of the season.
Monaco ended the season in 3rd with a nil - nil draw against Lens.
Nantes, will play Toulouse in the relegation play-off.
Dijon, and Nimes were relegated.
At present Marseille Saint-Étienne have won the most French titles with ten each.
PSG have won the third most with 9 titles.
Monaco and Nantes have both won 8 titles.
Lyon have won 7 titles.
