National Women's Champions Decided By Play-Offs.
In my view the leading British and Irish leagues should individually have play-offs to decide their individual champions.
So for instance the Scottish could have the top four teams in the league table have a champions play-off between the top four placed side in the Scottish league, at the end of the league season.
The top side would get home advantage against the fourth placed side.
The 2nd placed side would get to play the 3rd placed side with home advantage to the 2nd placed side.
The two semi-final winners then play a final. With the final played at the home stadium of the two play-off finalists who finished highest in the league table.
The Scottish Women's Premier League would therefore decide their champions by a play-off.
Other nations could do the same in deciding their champions, such as;
The English Women's Super League.
Women's Premiership (Northern Ireland).
League of Ireland Women's Premier Division.
The Welsh Women's League.
This could be done in other nations such as Germany, Poland, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Austria, France, the Netherlands, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, China, India, Japan, South Africa, Switzerland, and Portugal.
League of Ireland Men's Premier Division Play-Off Champions.
My idea would for the League of Ireland Men's Premier Division to use a play-offs to decide the national champions.
The League of Ireland table could enter the top 4 sides to qualify for a play-offs.
The team at the top of the table would play the 4th placed side with home advantage going to the top placed side.
Then the second placed team would play the 3rd placed side with home advantage going to the second placed side.
Then the two semi-final winners play a final at the home stadium of the highest placed league table side of the two finalists.
This would get good attendances and tv ratings.
