Aberdeen Should Enter A Colt Team In The Highland League
I think Aberdeen FC should enter a colt side in the Scottish Highland League so young Aberdeen players can get competitive experience against competitive sides, at a young age.
Glasgow Rangers and Glasgow Celtic are trying to enter colt sides in the Scottish Lowland League, so they can give their young players competitive experience, against adult players.
I also think Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Ross County, Dundee United, St Johnstone, and Dundee, should enter colt teams in the Scottish Highland League.
This is about increasing the number of top Scottish players, playing the game. If there are more competitive opportunities for young Scottish players, then more Scottish players will develop.
In Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal and Croatia, the big sides have reserve teams playing in lower divisions, to help more young players develop.
This is about the Scottish national team. If we can give more opportunities to young Scottish players, then more Scottish players will develop. End of story.
It would also increase interest in the Scottish Highland League, and increase the depth of the league.
