This is a post about teams who have won the Scottish FA Cup and Scottish League Cup in the same season.
This season St Johnstone have become the first non old firm team since season 1989-90 to win the Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup double.
Glasgow Rangers and Glasgow Celtic have managed many trebles before and after then.
The treble is when a team win the two cups and the league.
But this article is about getting the cup double of the Scottish FA Cup and Scottish League Cup.
Aberdeen under Alex Ferguson won the League Cup Final in 1985-86 against Hibernian. And that same season the Scottish FA Cup Final against Heart of Midlothian.
Aberdeen under Alex Smith and Jocky Scott won the League Cup Final against Glasgow Rangers, and the Scottish FA Cup Final against Glasgow Celtic, in season 1989-90.
This season St Johnstone defeated Livingston in the Scottish League Cup Final and Hibernian in Scottish FA Cup Final.
So only Glasgow Rangers,. Glasgow Celtic, Aberdeen, and St Johnstone have won both cups in the same season.
