How can Scottish teams can play more games? Simple! Limit the players to fewer games.

How can Scottish teams can play more games? Simple! Limit the players to fewer games, without limiting the number of times the teams play.
Lots of football fans, say that there are too many games, and we need to cut down on the number of games that Scottish sides play. They say with the League, the two main cups, and European football. Plus internationals and friendlies, that players are playing too many games.
They say we should get rid of cups, to make way for the league.
But I have a simpler solution to the problem. Just limit the number of games that each individual player can play, so the teams are forced to play more players in more games, rather than using the same players. This would mean bigger squads, where more players get to play games.
It would mean a team like Glasgow Celtic would ration how which games their leading players play so that they can play in the important games. So the fringe squad players would get more games.

Obviously you would want to ensure that the Scottish international side still has the best players available, and that when Scottish teams play in Europe, they are represented by their best players. As you would not want Scotland or Scottish clubs to underperform when representing Scotland.
So the limitations would happen where the big sides would play fringe players in more league and domestic cup games.
So by doing this, more Scottish players would get games. We would be able to keep the cups, including the lower tier Scottish Challenge Cup, as well as the SFA Cup and League Cup.
But we would also be able to add more cups into the system. Such as a Celtic Cup, or a British Cup. Or adding more Scottish teams entering the cups in England, or Wales. It would mean more football, and more players getting games.
In the NBA teams play over 80 times a season. So football sides do not play that many games.
In the NHL teams play over 80 times a season.
In Major League Baseball, teams play over 150 games a season.
So it is not as if we are asking to fans too much for the number of games we play.
Fans would not attend every game. They would be selective about which games they play.
But this would simply mean teams rationing how many games each individual player plays in a season, while the actual club could play more games.
Meanwhile it would mean the clubs would have to fiancé to have big squads. The big sides might be able to do that easier, but on the other side of the coin the big sides would not play their star players in every game so could lose to the smaller teams more easily.
Diolch.

Caroline Polachek - Door (Official Video)

This is a profound song by Polachek. She is a musical genius.

Caroline Polachek - Ocean of Tears

This is another great song by Caroline Polachek.

Invite foreign under 21 year old sides into Scottish Challenge Cup

I love the Scottish Challenge Cup. It is primarily a trophy for lower division sides in the Scottish Soccer League. Team form the 2nd, 3rd and 4th tiers play in the trophy. I love the way English, Welsh and Irish sides are invited into the cup. Plus the under 21 year old sides of every Scottish Premier side.
I think another improvement would be to invite the under 21 year old sides of the big English sides into the trophy. Imagine if we could invite the under 21 year old sides of Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Chelsea, Spurs, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Sunderland, Leeds United, and Nottingham Forest into the trophy. These clubs have massive supports even for their reserve sides. So they could attract fans to the trophy. It would be fun, to have future England stars playing in competitive games against Scottish sides. Yes the trophy would be won by English sides. But it would be worth the sacrifice, for Scotland to see future legends of the game playing in Scotland. I think big English clubs would be happy to play in the trophy, because they would enable young English sides to play in competitive games at a young age.

Caroline Polachek - So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings

This is the second time I have posted this video, because I love the song and the video so much.

Polachek is an incredible dancer and singer.

McInnes is a good manager of Aberdeen FC

I cannot understand Aberdeen fans who want to get rid of McInnes. He is a great boss of the Dons.
Before he arrived Aberdeen had not been in the top two for twenty years and only had a couple of third places in twenty years, Plus had not reached a final for more than a decade.
Since he has been there they have produced great players form the youth team and from the signings under McInnes and previous bosses, such as McKenna, Cosgrove, McLean, Shinnie, Rooney, McGinn, Hayes and Joe Lewis. Some have moved on because McInnes improved them.
In the last 10 years Hearts, Hibs and Dundee United have been relegated. For Aberdeen fans to see McInnes as a failure is ridiculous.

Then there are the two stupid arguments such as;
A)' He has taken us a far as he can.
My reply ; Well he has taken us as far as anyone can. It would take a boss 10 times better than Fergie to win the league nowadays. Why fire someone to get a worse set of results under the next boss?
B) Then there is the well, 'We should be in third every season.'
My reply; Well if it is so easy to finish 3rd, then why did Aberdeen only finish 3rd two times in the last 20 years before McInnes arrived?

-----

McInnes is a great Aberdeen manager and should be given loyalty and patience from the fans of Aberdeen FC.

Should the BBC do a sign language channel?

I think the BBC should do a sign language channel on their TV network. After all Wales, and Scotland have channels. Plus there is a BBC Alban and S4C channel for Scots Gaelic and Welsh language viewers.
Over 100,000 British people can communicate in British sign language.
It would be great to have movies, cartoons, interview shows, news shows, documentaries, and comedies and thrillers made specifically by and for people who use sign language.
Obviously this would be a TV channel.

Invite Barcelona FC into the Scottish Football League - Soccer Idea

I know this is a controversial subject. But Catalonia keeps having controversial debates on whether it should not be part of Spain.
Catalonia has a population of 7.5 million. But it also has one of the biggest football sides in the world, in FC Barcelona. A great team, with a great history and great players.
But if Catalonia leaves Spain. Will Barcelona still want to play in the Spanish League, or will they get chucked out? Would Barcelona want to play in a Catalonia League or an already established league? How about Scotland invites FC Barcelona to play in the Scottish League against top Scottish sides?
We could have Barcelona and Espanyol playing in the Scottish League.
Perhaps Girona, and CE Europa could play in the Scottish Soccer League too.

Thanks for reading my pie the sky idea.
Good luck.

KT Tunstall - If Only

Famous KT Tunstall Tune.

Will Chinese, Indian, and USA teams be invited into the European Champions League?

Will they eventually invite Chinese, Indian, and USA  teams into the European Champions League of soccer?
I know China, the USA, and India are not in Europe. But will European teams want to look for bigger markets to sell the Champions League franchise too?
The Chinese, and USA markets are the biggest markets in world sport. Maybe India could be added to that due to it's growing economy and population,

Does this mean eventually the UEFA authorities maybe invite teams from these massive markets into the increase the TV audience of the Champions League?

Soccer is still not a massive sport in the USA. Well if they had teams playing Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan,  Juventus, Inter Milan, and PSG in the Champions League it would pack out most USA grounds.

British NFL Side - Gridiron - American Football -

If there is going to be a British NFL side, it should play games all over the United Kingdom. Games should be played in Scotland, Wales and England. Games should be played in London, Glasgow, Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Birmingham, and Newcastle. Plus games in Ireland, in Dublin. Anywhere where there are big enough stadiums. Although a part of me does not want a NFL side in Britain. Because of the global warming issue. In flying players, staff, fans, cheerleaders and officials across the Atlantic Ocean for a sports game. I love American Football. One of Scotland's greatest achievement, is the Scottish Claymores winning the World Bowl in 1996. But I recognise global warming is a bigger issue for us to worry about. So should we really have teams in baseball, soccer, rugby, basketball, and gridiron travelling across the Atlantic Ocean for what is just a sports game?
We should wait until we have global warming friendly transport, that does not worsen global warming.

Glasgow Celtic or Hibernian should play Notre Dame in a friendly

Glasgow Celtic, and Hibernian FC of Edinburgh both have Irish heritage. Also so does Notre Dame University, Indiana, have Irish connections. They are known as an Irish university. So what about Celtic FC, and Hibernian FC play the Notre Dame University soccer side. This would be a good way of establishing connections and friendships between the Irish community in the USA, and the Irish community in Scotland. I am Scottish, but I do not have problem with the Irish.
It could help Glasgow Celtic increase support in the USA.

Peterhead 1-3 Falkirk | Highlights

Highlights of Peterhead v Falkirk in the Scottish Soccer League.

Should Cornwall have a national Rugby Union and Rugby League side?

I think Cornwall should have a national rugby union side competing in the international competitions and attempting to qualify for the World Cup. Cornwall has a strong regional or national identity. It also has placed rugby union as it's national sport.
Some people see Cornwall as a nation, some see it as a region of England.
I know that is a controversial issue and should be decided by people in Cornwall. But I think taking Cornwall away from England in rugby would not damage England, but would create another Celtic nation for people to in the Celtic lands to cheer on.

So imagine Cornwall qualifying to play for the World Cup or being promoted to the six nations. They could be as strong as Samoa or Fiji, in my view.

Invite Cornish, and Jersey sides into the Celtic Rugby Union League

At present in 2020, there is a rugby union league for Scottish, South African, Italian, Irish and Welsh sides. It is called the Pro14.
How about inviting the Jersey rugby union side, and Cornwall to enter teams into the league.?

It is debatable whether Cornwall is English. As some people in Cornwall are happy for Cornwall to be seen as part of England. But some see Cornwall as a separate nation.
But Jersey does not see itself as English. Jersey see themselves as a strong identity crown dependency.
Cornwall and Jersey are strong rugby regions, and travelling to these two regions would not be difficult as both have good logistic connections.
It would be great fun to add them to the set up.
Also I think Cornwall should have their own national rugby side that play in the second tier of European national rugby. Cornwall going independent would not damage England, but would another great nation to European and World Rugby.

Inviting Welsh and Irish sides into the Scottish League

Would it be a good idea to invite the leading Welsh and Irish sides into the Scottish Football League? Expand the division to a 20 team league with 38 games a season. Then invite the leading clubs like Wrexham, Swansea City, Cardiff, Newport County, and TNS from Wales. Then invite Linfield, Cliftonville, Crusaders, Derry City, Glentoran from Northern Ireland. Then invite Cork, Bohemians, Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers, Shelbourne, and Waterford from the Republic of Ireland.
Then put some of them in the Second Tier, and some in the Premier.
This would grow the size of the Scottish League, and increase attendances and TV revenue.
The only problem, is it would destroy the two Irish Leagues in quality.
It would also risk sectarian issues when Glasgow Celtic and Glasgow Rangers come to Ireland.

But it would certainly lead to a stronger Scottish League. Another idea is just to have a Celtic League as I have said before. And invite the big Welsh, Irish and Scottish sides to form a league. Forming this though would have to take account Scotland has more professional sides. Plus Cornwall and the Isle of Man could enter teams.

It is probably just pie in the sky,

Scottish clubs should sign Usain Bolt and Andy Murray -

I know this idea sounds crazy. But everyone who follows football and athletics, knows that Usain Bolt loves football. He is one of the greatest sports people of the last fifty years. So why not a small Scottish club make a deal with him and sign him for a limited period of time? So we can say the greatest 100 metre runner of all time played in the Scottish soccer league.
Also Andy Murray has good technique as a footballer. So why not a small Scottish club sign up Andy Murray to play a few games, at the end of the season. He is the greatest Scottish sport star of the last fifty years and it would be an honour for him to play for any Scottish club and would probably bring in the fans. I know he has injury issues, but I doubt that would stop him playing the last 10 minutes of a game.

It would be cool if some top non soccer sports stars played Scottish football at a decent level.

Everyone who plays sports tends to have played football to a decent level. So this is not like a weight lifter turning into a long jumper. Almost every sports star has tried football. I am sure there are transferable skills from other sports into football.
Bolt was also a good cricket player. Murray had relatives who played football to a high level.

Commonwealth Games should have football trophy

I think the Commonwealth Games has done well to have rugby sevens. But what about a football version of this at the Commonwealth games? Perhaps for indoor or outdoor 6 aside or five aside football trophy.
There are some strong footballing nations in the Commonwealth such as Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Australia, and the Caribbean, and African teams.

I remember growing up with the indoor six aside trophy played by Scottish Premier teams. Well that seems popular. so how about the Commonwealth games adds a small football trophy. Futsal is also popular.

Or we could have 11 aside under 21 football at the Commonwealth Games.
It would be fun to add football to the Commonwealth Games.
There could be male and female versions of the trophy.

There could even be a penalty shootout trophy at the Commonwealth games.

I think Scotland would do well at this.

Play-off for Scottish League to decide the Champions

Should the Scottish soccer league hold a play-off system to decide who the Scottish football champions are at the end of each season?
It could be run with the top four clubs at the end of each season playing single leg semi final, then a final at Hampden or Murrayfield to decide who the champions are.

In rugby union, and rugby league there are leagues that have a play-off system where the top teams play a play off to decide who the champions are rather than the normal full league decide in who the champs are.

It would be controversial and could mean the champions are not the best team.
But the advantage is;
TV and stadium attendances would be massive in my view.
You could get millions over the planet watching the final if it is Glasgow Celtic v Glasgow Rangers.

Scotland's European placements could be decided by this play off system. With the champions of the play off being the Scottish number one representative in the Champions League.

The main disadvantage is that the league might not put it's best team forward into the Champions League it might be the team who finished fourth the year before. Which could harm Scotland's chances of teams doing well in Europe.

Also the play-offs could be organised in many different ways. Such as at the end of the season, the fourth placed team playing the third placed team, then the winner of that playing the league runner-up and the winner of that playing the team who finished top of the league.

World's Longest Song, Opera, Poem or Muscial.

I have written posts on the World's longest Books and Movies.
But what about the longest song, operas, musical or poem.

According to numerous sources, Apparente Libertà by Giancarlo Ferrari is the longest song in the world.
It lasts around 76 minutes.

Surely that length of time could be bettered? How about a song the lasts centuries made by computer?
An artificial intelligence computer could be programmed to write a coherent and well performed song, musical, opera or poem that lasts centuries, or even longer such as millenia. It could be made by a highly advanced supercomputer, that is so powerful it make the performance of a poem, song, musical or opera last for centuries. Once again the work of art could be made by a cult, family or artistic group. The cult, group or family could spend entire generations of lives listening to or watching the performance.
Maybe the song could be in the background as some spaceship sales over thousands of years to another planet.

The song would then be reviewed by the cult, family or artistic group.
 Longest Opera -
The longest performed opera tends to be Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg by the German Wagner. It can last over 5 hours, when cut. Which is not that long.
Longest Poem -
The Mahābhārata.
A poem that is around 1.8 million words. The Mahābhārata is the longest poem in the Planet Earth.

Syd Puddefoot - Falkirk sign most expensive player.

In 1922 Falkirk FC of the Scottish League became the only Scottish club in history to have broken the world record signing fee. They signed Puddefoot for five thousand pounds from West Ham United.

World's Longest Movie.

I wrote a post on the World's longest book. What about the World's longest movie?

Sources I have seen have put forward;

Logistics or Logistics Art Project is a 21st century experimental art film by Erika Magnusson and Daniel Andersson. At 35 days and seventeen hours, it has been the longest film ever made.

So it would take months to watch the film, if you want to do other stuff?

Stora Enso Building, Helsinki is a 21 st century film by a Danish artist group called Superflex. The film lasts 10 days. Slightly easier to watch.

Amra Ekta Cinema Banabo is a Bangladeshi Bengali language fiction film by Ashraf Shishir. It lasts 21 hours.

But how about a artist group spend decades or centuries making a film continually? Once again this movie takes lifetimes to watch. So generations of a family, or artist group, or cult agree to spend their lifetimes making the film. While another family, artist grouo or cult, agree to spend their lifetimes watching the movie.

Some people would say some long lasting soap operas could be like this. Where generations of the same family continue to watch the same soap opera, like Neigbours, Corronation Street, Eastenders, Home and Way, and talk about it for decades or centuries after. A glue that keeps the same family connected.

Perhaps the film could last 200 years, and take hundreds of years to watch.
I suppose this is like the Spanish film, Open Your Yes, remade as Vanilla Sky. Where a man dreams for over 100 years,

World's Longest Book

It is very difficult to write the World's longest book.
One source suggests Artamène ou le Grand Cyrus by Madeleine de Scudéry is the longest in terms of page numbers. At nearly 2 million words, it would be a long read.
Another source suggests;
Devta the serialized fantasy thriller tale written in Urdu by the writer Mohiuddin Nawab, is a massive 11 million words.

I wonder what it would be like to read this.
I struggle to read books over 120 pages.
I also write short stories. But what if someone went the reverse of this target?
Here is an ambition.
What about a book that you take your entire life to read?
You read no other books, just this book. The book is so long,
Or even more so, that it takes generations of your family to read the book. A book so long to read, that it would take 10 lifetimes.
Or a book written by a generation of writers. A book taking 200 years to write and read.
At the end the family sends a review to the media sources.

One family agree to take 10 generations to write the book every day hundreds of millions of words long.
Then another family agree to spend generations reading the book.

Imagine if you did not like the book, and still had to spend your entire life reading the book?
Or if they made a short movie series of it, as you reads the book?

Franz Ferdinand - Right Action (Official Video)

Catchy song.

Make the Scottish Challenge Cup a group stage trophy

If the Scottish Challenge Cup was made into a group stage trophy in the early rounds. it would give more games for the colt teams to develop young players. I think it is a great trophy. It is very useful that colt teams play in the Challenge Cup, because that way young players at the big Premier sides can get early experience of competitive football.

I would prefer it if colt teams could play in the full SPFL, or Lowland or Highland League. But this way it would allow young players game time, while not altering the structure of the league.

North Atlantic League Cup

How about a North Atlantic League Cup, between the top 4 sides of each of the Dutch, Belgian, Scottish and Portuguese Football Leagues?

So, the top four sides from each league.

20 years-ago people put forward the idea of a North Atlantic League. I prefer the best of both worlds where we keep our own domestic leagues, and our own biggest domestic sides in our own leagues. But on top of that have cross border cups. This way it is the best of both worlds. Where the big teams from Scotland, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Belgium play each other.

On top of domestic and European football games.

This would mean a sixteen-side trophy.

The idea would be a group stage trophy. Four groups, of four teams. With each team in each group playing each team in their group home and away. With the top two teams in each group qualifying for a single leg knockout tournament.

There could be one team from each country in each group.

This would mean big sides like Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, Porto, Feyenoord, Anderlecht, Club Brugge, Standard Liege, Sporting Lisbon, Benfica, Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, Utrecht, Dundee United, competing to play in the trophy.

This would mean six games in the group stage for each team. Plus four single leg knockout rounds including the final. So a maximum of 10 games for the two finalists.

The single leg final would be played at one of the participating teams stadiums.

This way you do not have tens of thousands of fans travelling to a neutral venue. Or even worse the stadium being empty, because of fans not being prepared to travel.

To do this we would have to cut down on games in the domestic leagues. But this would be possible. So cut the number of teams in each domestic league. It would benefit all the teams participating with attendances, sponsorship and tv revenue.

But the problem is that it would lead of more global warming. As it would mean teams travelling long distances to Portugal from Scotland and vice versa.

I would prefer a cross border cup for Scotland with English, Welsh and Irish sides, but the English might claim they are too big for that. And the big Welsh sides are part of the English League system.

I do not support Scottish sides joining the English League, as I want Scotland to have their own League, with the biggest Scottish clubs remaining in the Scottish League. Unless a European Super League is formed. Then I would want Scottish sides to qualify for a European Super League.

For instance in Scotland. The league could be increased to 16 teams, with teams playing each other twice a season, that creates a 30 game season. Taking 8 games away from the league, resulting in room for the extra games in the North Atlantic League Cup.

The remaining teams in the Scottish Premier that do not play in the North Atlantic League Cup could play their own Scottish Premier Cup to make up games for their loss of league games.

Revenue Sharing in Welsh and Irish Football Leagues

Revenue Sharing in Welsh and Irish Leagues

I do not support 100% revenue sharing for the Scottish Soccer League, as I think the present system of having elite clubs with the concentrations of wealth enables top players to come to, and stay in Scotland.
Why fix a system that works?

But!
What about revenue sharing in the Welsh and Irish Leagues?
When I say the two Irish Leagues, I am referring to the League of Ireland and the Northern Ireland Football League.
The Welsh Premier (AKA League of Wales, or Cymru Premier), and the two Irish Leagues are punching below their weight at present.
So why not try copying the American system used for MLS, NBA, NFL and MLB?
In this a huge proportion  of the individual club's revenue is shared between the elite sides, and smaller sides, so that the leagues become extremely competitive.
There is also a draft which allows the lower clubs the right to pick young players first.
Let me point out the draft system would not work. As you could hardly tell a young Welsh part time player living in North Wales, that he must be forced to move to South Wales, because a club picked him down south, and vice versa. Also the Scottish and English clubs might simply offer the young Welsh players better contracts.

But revenue sharing could work in the Welsh and Irish Leagues.
Perhaps the league would be extremely competitive, which could attract fans and TV figures.
But it is also true that they have revenue sharing in US sports, and they still have dynasties where teams dominate for decades. So it does not always work anyway.

As I have said in previous article, I think the smaller countries do better in European competitions when wealth is concentrated in some elite clubs. That works for Scotland with Celtic and Rangers, doing well in Europe.

But!
As the Irish Leagues and Welsh Leagues are not doing that well anyway, Would it be sensible to experiment with this new idea?
The team could all pool their resources into a central fund, and then the money would be equally split among the participating sides in the top division. This would lead to a very competitive league. It could have systems to ensure all teams are of the same level. Resulting in the most competitive leagues in Europe. A selling point for fans and TV audiences.
The Welsh League would no longer be dominated by TNS.
The Irish Leagues would be competitive.
It would take a good few years to enact, for clubs to adjust to new financial circumstances.
Disadvantages'
It could also discourage investment. As clubs would not be able to keep all their investment.
But perhaps investors, would invest in the league as a whole rather than individual clubs.
Clubs might not be motivated to increase revenue. As the money would be taken away anyway and given to other clubs.

It might be against the law in Wales, and Ireland due to different legal systems in Wales, and Ireland compared to the USA. Wales and Ireland have different legal systems to each other let alone the USA.

Some clubs might cheat and give under the table wages to their players to beat the limits on their spending resources.

So would revenue sharing be a good idea?

Revenue Sharing in Welsh and Irish Football Leagues.

I do not support 100% Revenue Sharing in the Scottish Football League

I do not support 100% Revenue Sharing, between clubs in the Scottish Football League.

Some people argue all clubs in the Scottish Premier, should join their budgets together and share the resources, equally.

The theory is that then the clubs would be equal and the league would be really competitive, so would attract higher TV viewing figures and attendances.
But I disagree with this logic.
If we shared resources how would Celtic and Rangers be able to afford to build 50,000 and 60,000 capacity stadiums, on far smaller budgets. Then there would be tens of thousands of people disenfranchised from going to watch their fave football clubs.

Also the cleverer of the small countries realise that the only way they can compete to any level in European football, is by having some elite sides that can compete at a high level against sides from the bigger nations.
Having small clubs all across the Scottish Premier who all have the resources of teams with 15,000 capacity grounds,  Would just result in a league that cannot go far in European football.
It is like in rugby where the Scottish rugby set up has two elite teams in the elite rugby leagues, because it is the only way Scotland can have strong club sides, by concentrating resources on elite sides.

Look at the way that the smaller countries that have successful leagues, are  the leagues that have elite teams with resources concentrated to enable the representatives in Europe are the teams with the best players.
Also if we decreased the size of Glasgow Celtic and Glasgow Rangers to smaller clubs they would not be able to attract top international players to the league. So the standard of football in the Scottish Premier would decrease.

Other countries and Sports have resources sharing.
Major leagues in American (USA, and Canada) sports have resource sharing. But it is a lot easier for a massive country with tonnes of giant cities to share resources between giant clubs. In the case of Scotland it would mean resources being shared between massive clubs, and clubs that only just breaking even as professional sides.
Some would argue that the likes of Ross County, and St Johnstone would grow. But what is the point in that if they are still not big enough to make a serious impression on European football.

My view is that we should concentrate resources with some elite clubs.
But the way to make this fairer is to create a system where all the clubs in the Scottish League can develop to become massive sides. Maybe have some sort of cross border trophy for the top 4 sides in Scotland. Every club in Scotland has the potential to reach top four.. So if we had a cross border cup with other countries, with group stages guaranteed for all the top four sides, then every club in Scotland could develop to be an elite side generating big finances to enable them to do well in Europe.
I am open to some leagues that are not working at potential to experiment with revenue sharing. But the Scottish Premier does not need to do this as at present we punch above our weight. So why wreck that system?

Experiment
How about the Welsh, Republic of Ireland, and Northern Ireland Leagues experiment with revenue sharing, to see if having a competitive league works? I do not think it would. But it would be worth a shot for the Welsh and Irish to experiment with a new system. But Scotland does not need to do this. We already have a successful football model.

Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed my post.

I do not support a wage cap in Scottish Football

If we had a wage cap in Scottish football, then it would just mean reducing the size of the biggest sides in Scotland. This would make it difficult for Scottish sides to compete in Europe, so lower our Uefa rankings further.
We would find it tougher to compete in Europe. When competing in Europe should be one of the priroties of Scottish football. We should make all clubs as big as possible. Make the league a bigger player in European and World football.
We need to have ideas that could cause more people to watch Scottish football in the rest of the UK, and in Europe and the World.
Getting ideas that increase TV revenue.
Obne idea could be to have a play off to decide who wins the league like they do in rugby.

Clubs do need to manage their finances better.
And we need to encourage clubs to manage their set ups better. But a wage cap would just cause legal issues, where the clubs that cheat the system do better.

KT Tunstall - Other Side Of The World

Classic song, to be enjoyed.

The British and Irish Isles bid to host the 2030 World Cup of Football

I am a big fan of the bid, by Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland to host the football men's World Cup of 2030. This is a great way of allowing Scotland, Wales, and Ireland to qualify for the football World Cup, and have the unknown honour of hosting a football World Cup. It is generous of the English to help the Scots, Welsh and Irish host a tournament we would not be able to host on our own.

I am hoping Scotland, could host an entire group.
Great stadiums like Hampden, Celtic Park, Ibrox, Murrayfield, the Millennium Stadium, Landsdowne Road,  Croke Park, could host the tournament.
Also England has many, many stadiums that could host the trophy.
Another advantage of the British and Irish hosting the trophy, is that there would be no need to build new stadiums. So that would save on Carbon footprint and football resources.

Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England were the first nations to play international football. So it makes sense to genuinely bring football home. And Scotland was the first nation to host an international match. It was against England.
