5 Ideas I Support For Scottish Football.----
OK so here are five of my ideas in
total;
1) Put B or colt teams of the big sides
in the lower divisions. So that young players can get early experience of
competitive football. This is about ensuring that all young Scottish players get
early experience of competitive soccer. Those players can be developed. The
more top players Scotland has, the better the international team will be. The
priority for me is the international side.
They play B sides in the lower
divisions of Spain, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, and
Croatia. And Scotland used to play B sides in the old C Division against first team
sides,
We need Scotland to produce more
players. But we also need Scottish club teams to do well in Europe
So by allowing the first teams for the
big sides to continue to sign experienced Scottish and foreign players, but
still have an opportunity for young Scottish players in their colt or B sides.
This ensures Scottish clubs will perform to maximum potential in international
club trophies yet still develop top young players.
2) Have a 16 team Scottish Premier.
This way more teams can be in the top
league. The number of games can be cut in the league to 30 a season,
3) With extra free weeks freed up. That
opens up the schedule for more trophies. I would support all Scottish Premier
sides playing in a cross-border cup, like the Atlantic League Cup,
The trophy would be a group stage
trophy followed by a knockout stage.
This would be a trophy on top of
domestic and European football. So on top of the domestic trophies and on top
of the UEFA Champions League, the Europa League and the new Europa Conference
League.
My idea would be to have an Atlantic
League Cup consisting of teams from small to medium power European nations such
as Poland, Sweden, Norway, Albania, Switzerland, Armenia, Georgia, the Netherlands,
Belgium, Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Lithuania,
Wales, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Hungary, Finland, Lithuania,
Greece, Austria, Slovakia, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, and
Bulgaria.
There could even be larger countries
like France, the Ukraine, and Russia wanting to take part.
It could even be possible for teams
from North America, Central America, Asia, and Africa to take part. After all
South African rugby clubs have taken part in the rugby Pro14 in the previous 10
years, So if rugby teams from South Africa can play club sides from Italy, Ireland,
Scotland and Wales, then why can’t African soccer sides play European soccer sides
in a competitive football trophy?
I would be happy for a trophy to start
even if it was just 3 or 4 countries entering teams at the start,
Imagine great games like Glasgow Celtic
v Ajax, Glasgow Rangers v Porto, Aberdeen v AEK Athens, Hibernian v Basel,
Dundee United v Copenhagen, Heart of Midlothian v AIK Stockholm, Ross County v
Rapid Vienna, Legia Warsaw v Motherwell, Sporting Lisbon v Inverness Caledonian
Thistle, Dundee v Sparta Prague, Falkirk v IFK Göteborg, and St Johnstone v Brondby.
4) Scotland to play more B
international matches against the home nations.
5) Have a new national non-league cup
between Scottish non-league and Scottish junior sides, As there is junior football, the Lowland League and the Highland League. Plus lots of other leagues.
Thanks for reading these ideas. --
