Should The Scottish Junior Cup Allow In Non-League Sides?
I mean keep the Scottish Junior Cup. But also allow in sides from the senior level, Scottish Lowland League, and the Scottish Highland League.
The Highland League and Lowland League are the two leagues below the SPFL. They produce teams who can replace sides relegated from the SPFL.
But my idea would be to allow in non-league sides into the Scottish Junior Cup,
This way all the best non-league sides would be in the Scottish Junior Cup. Including the junior sides and the leading Lowland and Highland League sides.
Maybe even allow in the B or colt sides of the big Scottish Premier sides. That is allow in colt teams from Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Aberdeen, Heart of Midlothian, Motherwell, Dundee United and Hibernian.
This would increase the number of top sides in the trophy.
The other idea is to keep the Scottish Junior Cup as it is, but create a new Scottish Juniors And Non-League Cup as the premier non-league cup trophy of Scotland.
Once again this would be all the Scottish junior sides and Scottish non-league sides. But also with the colt or b teams of the big SPFL sides again. This would be a high quality trophy, and could raise interest in non-SPFL Scottish football.
Imagine games like Auchinleck Talbot v Glasgow Rangers Colts, Largs Thistle v Aberdeen Colts, Glasgow Celtic Colts v Kelty Hearts, and Linlithgow Rose V Dundee United Colts.
