Hampden Stadium Hosts Euro 2020 Last 16 Match.

I Hope Scotland Qualify For Qatar 2022.

I Hope Scotland Qualify for Qatar 2022.

Scotland have a tough group. to qualify for the World Cup.

But they have a top manager and top players.

Scotland are in a group with Denmark. Austria, Israel, the Faroe Islands, and Moldova.

Scotland need to win their home games and beat some strong teams.

They need to avoid dropping points.

Scotland have a good bunch of players who could get Scotland far.

Scotland are in Group F for qualifying.

Scotland have not qualified for a World Cup since 1998.

So Scotland should show some quality and passion and get through to the World Cup.

Scotland Should Have Unity In Football

Scotland Should Have Unity In Football.

Scotland needs to be a united nation.

The people of Scotland should get behind their national teams.

I support all Scottish sides in European football.

I want all the professional, part time, and amateur clubs to perform well and exist.

People should not want to damage Scottish football just because it helps their club individually.

My priority is the Scotland national teams, and how well Scottish clubs do in UEFA trophies.,

I would also like extra cross border cups, on top of domestic league, domestic cup and UEFA trophies.

Get the international matches as more intense games.

Do the leaders make the people, or the people make the leaders?

Do the leaders make the people, or the people make the leaders?

This is an interesting debating question.

Would the people choose what way their leaders goes, or do the leaders manipulate the people to the way country should go?

I suppose different leaders have been led and chosen by the people. While different leaders have led their people in good or bad ways.

This can be true in history, politics, sport, or business.

England Beat Germany 2-0 In EURO 2020 - June

England Beat Germany 2-0 In EURO 2020 - June

England have defeated Germany, by two goals to zero at Wembley Stadium, London, Great Britain.

Sterling and Kane scored for England in the second half.

In a close, cagey match, the English side defeated the German side at home.

England will now qualify for the Quarter- Final.

England will be one of the favourites for the trophy now, after beating the successful European team Germany.

So far only Scotland have stopped England from scoring in EURO 2020.

I Support Having B Teams In The SPFL

I Support Having B Teams In The SPFL.

I support all Scottish clubs having the right to have colt teams in the SPFL. The only rule should be that you are only allowed one team from each club in each division.

There are rumours that the SPFL is being asked to have 48 clubs in the SPFL with two of them from the B teams of Celtic and Rangers.

I would love Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, Dundee United and Motherwell to have colt teams in the lower leagues.

This is about helping young Scottish players develop into top players.

The priority in Scottish football should be about having a strong international sides and teams that do well in Europe.

By allowing the big sides to play colt teams in the lower leagues, that way all their young players will get the games to develop in virtual first team football.

It should be the main priority of Scottish football to produce great Scottish players.

They allow colt teams in the lower leagues in Croatia, Spain, Germany, France, Portugal and the Netherlands.

I see it as a compliment to the smaller sides to say they would be great sides to play against the top future players of Scottish soccer.

We need to make sure more Scottish players develop. So the international side can do better.

And it is unrealistic to expect the big sides to fill their first teams with youth players as they would get slaughtered in Europe.

This way the big sides can still play top signings and experienced players, while at the same time developing young players.

Switzerland Beat France On Penalties At EURO 2020

Switzerland Beat France On Penalties At EURO 2020.

In the male European Championships the Switzerland soccer side have surprisingly defeated World Champions France on penalties.

This knocks France out of the trophy. While Switzerland go through to the Quarter-Final.

The game was drawn 3-3 before penalties were taken.

In moral time, Benzema scored twice for France and Pogba scored for France.

Seferovic scored twice for Switzerland, while Gavranovic scored once for Switzerland.

Then the game went to penalties and the Swiss, won 5-4 on penalties.

It is a massive surprise for France and Switzerland.

France in their history have won two World Cups and two European Championships.

Christian Ramirez has signed for Aberdeen FC in Scotland.

Christian Ramirez has signed for Aberdeen FC in Scotland.

Ramirez is an American forward, who has played for UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, Concordia Eagles, Orange County Blue Star, Charlotte Eagles, Minnesota United, Los Angeles FC, and Houston Dynamo.

The forward was born in California, and has been capped twice by the USA, and scored a goal for the national side, against Panama.

Aberdeen will be hoping he is a great goal scorer in the Scottish leagues. He is part of the new side Stephen Glass is building.

Ramirez is a vital signing for the club. As Aberdeen need goal scorers.

Andy Murray won a thrilling tennis match against Georgian tennis player Basilashvili.

The score was Murray 6-4 6-3 5-7 6-3 Basilashvili.

It looked like Murray was going to win in straight sets as he went 5-0 up in games, final the third set.

But Basilashvili pulled back to win the third set after being match point down.

Andy Murray has in his history won 2 Wimbledons, 1 US Open, 2 Olympic golds, has been World Number One, and has won a Davis Cup.

He showed great mental strength to win this pulsating tennis match.

I Hope Scotland Have A New Golden Generation

I Hope Scotland Have  A New Golden Generation.

This is in terms of male soccer.

Scotland had their golden era in the 19th Century when they were the best team in the World.

They had massive wins, and record undefeated runs. And they played the first international game.

I would say the nineteen seventies and nineteen eighties were the closest to a golden generation in recent times for Scotland. Although Scotland did qualify for 2 European Championships and a World Cup in the nineteen nineties.

Hopefully this new bunch of Scotland players will lead to a golden generation for the 21st Century.

We will ned the experienced players also. There are some good older Scotland players,

But Scotland needs a new golden era for Scottish international football. That involves qualifying for major trophies and even getting far in them.

The Celtic – Viking Premier Super Football Cup

The Celtic – Viking Premier Super Football Cup

Here is an idea for a football trophy on top of domestic leagues, and UEFA competitions.

A cup trophy played between sides from the Celtic and Viking nations.

The combined population is massive.

It would be a fun trophy between the smaller Northern European nations.

My idea would be to have all Scottish Premier sides, plus selected sides from Celtic nations of Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man, Brittany, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland.

The Viking nations would include Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Russia, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Normandy, Ukraine, Russia, Estonia, and Greenland.

The trophy could be a group stage trophy of 11 teams in each group. Each team playing each other once.  Each team would be drawn with 5 home games and 5 away games.

The combined populations would be;

Celtic Lands.

Scotland, 5.4 million.

Wales, 3.1 million.

Northern Ireland, 1.8 million.

Republic of Ireland, 4.9 million.

Isle of Man, 80,000.

Cornwall, 500,000.

Brittany, 4.5 million.

Combined population, 20.3 million people.

The Viking Countries Not including countries included in the Celtic lands,

Sweden, 10.3 million.

Denmark,5.8 million.

Norway, 5.3 million.

Finland, 5.5 million.

Iceland, 360,000.

Greenland, 56,000.

Faroe Islands, 52,000.

Normandy, 3.3 million.

Russia, 142.6 million.

Ukraine, 41.5 million.

Estonia, 1.3 million.

Combined population. Over 215 million.

The Viking nations list is excluding nations like Brittany, Normandy, the Isle of Man, and Scotland which were already counted in the Celtic lands total.

So the total population of the nations in the Celtic – Viking Cup would be 235 million.

It could be a massive trophy to attract global football audiences. The major European leagues would be unlikely to enter teams except the small French sides.

From Scotland sides like Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Aberdeen, Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian and Dundee United could enter,

From Wales sides like Cardiff City, Connah’s Quay Nomads, Newport County, Wrexham and Swansea City could enter.

From Sweden sides like IFK Goteborg, Helsingborgs IF, IFK Norrköping, AIK Stockholm, and Malmo could enter,

From Norway s ides like Rosenborg, Viking Stavanger, Fredrikstad FK and Molde could enter,

From Russia, sides like Spartak Moscow, Dynamo Moscow, Lokomotiv Moscow, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Rostov and CSKA Moscow could enter.

From the Ukraine, Dynamo Kiev, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Dnipro could enter.

From Brittany sides like FC Nantes, the Stade Rennais F.C., the FC Lorient, the Stade Brestois 29, the Vannes OC and the En Avant de Guingamp could enter.

From Normandy teams like AS Cherbourg Football, Le Havre AC, US Quevilly-Rouen, US Avranches could take part.

From the island of Ireland teams like Linfield, Derry City, St Patrick's Athletic, Bohemian, Shamrock Rovers, Dundalk, Cork City and Shelbourne could take part.

From Cornwall, Truro City could take part.

From Iceland teams like Valur, KR could take part,

From Finland teams like Haka, and HJK could take part.

From Denmark teams like Copenhagen, Brondby and FC Midtjylland could enter.

Purpose of the trophy.

To create a trophy that the smaller European football powers could produce winners of. At present the big nations dominate the European football trophies. So this could allow Scottish, Russian, Ukrainian, Swedish, and Danish teams to win the trophy.

This would be a massive trophy, but could be organised in a simple way.

I know travel would be tough. But the draw could be regionalised. So the group stages are regional, but the knockout rounds are non-regionalised. With teams drawing teams from anywhere in the knockout stages.

I think this would be a fun trophy to give big Scottish sides, some big sides to play each season.

Sides from Russia, France, Sweden, and Ukraine would get the chance of compete against top foreign sides.,

It would help the smaller football leagues grow and develop their teams.

So countries like Ireland, Wales, and Finland could see their teams grow from playing in this trophy.

From a Scottish point of view it could enable teams to play glamorous teams from all over Europe.

I know travel would be tough, but look at the distances travelled in the sporting leagues of the USA, Canada, Australia, China, Russia, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina,

This would be a fun trophy of top and small sides.

The Celtic – Viking region is a large population. So combining these regions for a football trophy would be fun.

The Celtic nations have some passionate fans, and patriotic peoples.

The Viking lands cover a huge population.

So this would be a massive market for big soccer sides.

Scotland would benefit from massively increasing it’s market.

Hope Scotland Continue To Qualify For Finals.

It would be great if this Scotland side could qualify for more European Championships and World Cups.

I enjoyed Scotland being part of EURO 2020.

Scotland can bring passion and intensity to major finals. Scotland has the most passionate fans.

Scotland held the first ever international soccer match. So Scotland has a rich football history. Scotland was the best team of the 19th Century.

Hopefully Scotland can move up the rankings with their great players and manager.

Scotland would add to the atmosphere of any finals.

Scotland did qualify for some female finals also. And that was fun.

Hopefully Scotland can qualify for the male and female finals.

Steve Clarke Is A Great Scotland Boss

Steve Clarke Is A Great Scotland Boss.

He has managed to qualify Scotland to their first finals in over 20 years.

They did not get humiliated by anyone in the EURO 2020 trophy.

So it is all about having something to build on. There are some great players in the side.

The Scotland fans just need to be patient, in developing a great team.

I hope Steve Clarke can be supported in his role as Scottish manager.

It will be difficult to qualify for the World Cup.

But hopefully Scotland get a good draw for the next European Championships qualifying.

I do not mind his formation. I support any formation that gets Scotland to qualify for finals.

Away Goals Rule Scrapped

UEFA has stopped the away goals rule in the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League.

The away goals rule has been an integral part of European football for decades. So it is a massive move to get rid of the rule.

The away goals rule came into play when two teams had scored the same number of goals over the two leg ties.

When two teams were level over the two legs, the team who had scored the most away goals went through.

This rule affected Scottish teams many times.

Such as in the 1985-86 European Cup when Aberdeen drew 2-2 at home against IFK Goteborg, and 0-0 away from home. This meant IFK went through to the semi-final on the away goals rule, as they had scored more goals away from home.

I hope the Scottish sides get far in Europe this season.

Scottish People - Should Scotland Be Getting Better Players

Scottish People Should Scotland Getting Better Players.

My priority list as a Scottish soccer fan is;

1. Scotland qualify for and do well in international trophies.

2. Scottish soccer clubs do well in UEFA trophies.

3. Scottish clubs attract and develop good players.

4. Scotland produce good managers and coaches.

5. Clubs based in Scotland play in more cross border trophies on top of domestic and UEFA football.

I support all Scottish clubs in Europe, and want Scotland to produce better players,

But there are some people who could not care less how well Scotland and Scottish clubs do. And my view is that if you don't care how well Scotland do, then why should someone listen to your ideas?

I think there is a problem of people who could not care less how many good players Scotland produces,

I met someone who actually talked about sporting integrity, and morality when suggesting her would rather Scottish football fail than try out new ideas.

I do not see it as morally good or sporting integrity to want Scotland to fail to qualify for trophies. Why is it morally good to want Scotland to lose

I support morality. I support sporting integrity. But it is not sporting integrity to want Scottish clubs to fail.

It is not sporting integrity to want Scotland to fail to produce good players.

That is why I support colt teams of the big sides in the lower leagues. It is why I want Scottish clubs to have cross border trophies on top of domestic and UEFA football trophies.

It is our duty as a football community to create a system that produces top players for the national side and produces clubs that can perform well in Europe.

I met someone who thought the colt idea was against sporting integrity. It has nothing to do with sporting integrity. And surely the far worse thing is to want Scotland to fail to produce good players?

I want Scotland and Scottish clubs to do well. But I do not understand how anyone could put their part time team finishing 3 or 4 places higher in the league as above Scottish football having good teams.

Thanks.

France, Germany And Portugal Qualify From Toughest Group

France, Germany And Portugal Qualify From Toughest Group Of EURO 2020.

In EURO 2020, the French. Germans and Portugal teams have qualified for the last 16.

On what was the toughest group with Hungary, Germany, France and Portugal in the same group. The so called group of death/saw Germany escape being knocked out in their final match of the group stage.

In the Germany v Hungary game, the Hungarians took the lead twice.

While Hungary performed miracles to nearly defeat the mighty Germans.

Germany equalised twice to save the German side into qualifying for the last 16.

France and Portugal drew 2-2 in a pulsating game, that was their last match of the group stage.

In the group, France finished top, Germany were second Portugal were third and Hungary were fourth.

Portugal qualified as one of the best 3rd place sides.

Germany, France and Portugal will hope to win the trophy.

I Cannot Wait To See Celtic Colts and Rangers Colts In The Lowland League

I Cannot Wait To See Celtic Colts and Rangers Colts In The Lowland League.
It is about producing more great Scottish soccer players.

This is a great progressive move for Scottish soccer.

We need young players at all clubs to get competitive game time. So they can improve and learn at a proper level.

The Croats, Dutch, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany all allow second teams to play in the league system.

I want all Scottish professional teams to play reserve or colt sides in the lower divisions. So all young players get a chance.

For me the priority is the Scottish football team,

It is unrealistic to expect Glasgow Rangers, Glasgow Celtic, Dundee United or Aberdeen to play an entire first team of under 21 year old Scottish players. But they would do that with colt sides in lower leagues.

I want Scottish club teams to do well in Europe, and the national sides to do well

This is about the morally good stance of improving the Scottish national side, so we can beat great sides, and get far in the trophies.

Thanks.

Spain 5 Slovakia 0 - EURO 2020

Spain had a impressive win against Slovakia with 5 unanswered goals.

Laporte, Sarabia, and Torres scored for Spain. Plus there were two own goals scored for Spain by Slovakian players.

The game was played in Seville, Spain.

Spain finish the group in second after Sweden beat Poland 3-2. Sweden have finished top of the group.

Spain will now play Croatia in the last 16.

Spain seem to be hitting top form as the trophy progresses.

Thiago Alcántara had a great performance in the game.

Spain have won the trophy three times. There was a fear they did not have goal threat. But this match will possibly refute those ideas.

Croatia 3 Scotland 1 - Scotland Out  Of Euro 2020.

The game was played in Hampden Stadium, Glasgow, Scotland on the 22nd of June 2021.

Fir the first time, Scotland have lost to Croatia.

Both teams needed to win to get through to the knockout stages.

Scotland lost in their final games of  EURO 2020, to finish on one point from 3 games.

Vlasic, Modric, and Perisic scored for Croatia.

While McGregor scored for Scotland.

Livakovic, Juranovic, Lovren, Vida, Gvardiol, Modric, Brozovic, Kovacic, Vlasic, Petkovic and Perisic started for Croatia.

Barisic, Ivanusec, Kramaric and Rebicat were brought on as subs for Croatia.

Marshall, McTominay, Hanley, Tierney, O'Donnell, McGinn, McGregor, Armstrong, Robertson, Dykes  and Adams started for Scotland.

McKenna, Patterson, Fraser and Nisbet came on to the games as sibs for Scotland.

It was a below par tournament for Scotland.
Scotland did no suffer any massive humiliating defeats. Plus they also managed one draw. But they did not win any games, and only scored one goal. Scotland finished bottom of their group which is disappointing. But it was still great to have Scotland qualify for a major finals.

Scotland Need To Qualify For Knockout Stages

Scotland Need To Qualify For Knockout Stages.

Scotland has had many great results at male international football. They were the best team of the 19th Century. They qualified for World Cups and European Championships of the 0th Century, and had some great results against major sides,

The main thing missing for Scotland is not having qualified for knockout stages in a major finals.

Scotland need to beat the mighty Croatia, to qualify for the last 16 of the European Championships, and even then they may need to rely on other results going their way.

As a Scotland fan I would love to see Scotland get far in the tournament. They have some great players and a great manager.

Scotland To Play Croatia For Knockout Stages

Scotland To Play Croatia For Knockout Stages

Scotland need to beat Croatia to finish second or third in their group in EURO 2020.

Scotland cannot finish top of the group as they lost to the Czech Republic, and the Czech Republic have a superior head to head record. Plus the Czechs are already on four points, while Scotland are on one point.

If Scotland beat Croatia, then they are guaranteed third place.

Scotland would then need to win to have any chance of getting a place as one of the best third place teams. There is a small chance of finishing in second place. But Scotland would need to improve their goal difference dramatically.

The realistic prospect is to finish in third place, in their group, and to then qualify as one of the best third placed teams.

Scotland have some top players.

Croatia will be a tough team. Croatia reached the 2018 World Cup Final.

Scotland will be dreaming of the knockout stages.

Scotland To Play Czech Republic In Euro 2020 June

Scotland To Play Czech Republic In Euro 2020 June.

The Scotland first team male side have their first game in a  major finals since 1998.

The last time the Scottish male side played in a major finals was the French World Cup of 1998, which France won.

The Scottish female side and youth sides have played in tournaments since then.

But this is the first game in a major finals, for the male side since going out in the group stage in World Cup 98.

Scotland have a good team for the European Championships.

Some World class players, some players with potential and some players with experience.

The Scottish side have played the Czech Republic many times in the last few years,

Czechia is another name for the Czech Republic.

Scotland are at home in Hampden, Glasgow.

Scotland will be wanting a major win against the Czechs. The first time the Scotland male side have played in a major finals since the last century.

There is not much pressure on Scotland. As there are some top teams in the tournament.

The favourites to win EURO 2020 in some people's eyes, are France, the reigning World Champions.

France have won two World Cups and two European Championships in their history.

Scotland will aim to go far.

Scotland Is The Priority.

For me international football is the priority. I hope the Scotland do well at international football.

I also hope Scottish soccer clubs do well in UEFA competitions. But international football is what it is all about.

I hope Scotland win a few games in the Euro 2020 Championships.

Scotland have some World class players.

Scotland had their golden period in the 19th century, when they won some massive scores, and were the best team in the World,

Let's hope Scotland get far in major trophies.

We need a system that produces good international players, that is why we need the big sides to have B teams in the lower divisions, so young players get a chance.

Scotland Have Won Twice In European Championships Games

Scotland Have Won Twice In European Championships Games.

This is about referring to the male version of the trophy,

In the 1992 European Championships, Scotland beat the Commonwealth of Independent States 3-0.

The Commonwealth of Independent States was the team for the former Soviet Union.

In the 1996 European Championships, Scotland beat Switzerland by 1 goal to zero.

Scotland also drew with the Netherlands 0-0 in the 1996 European Championships.

Hopefully Scotland can win some more games in this European Championships, this year,

This Euro 2020 will be only the third time Scotland have played in the European Championships.

Scotland have a strong squad. There are experienced players of high quality.

Scotland is a historic home to international football.

Scotland has some great stadiums. From large stadiums like Ibrox, Celtic Park, Hampden, Murrayfield and Pittodrie Stadium.

There are other great stadiums like Dumbarton Football Stadium, the Caledonian Stadium, and Tannadice Park, McDiarmid Park and Easter Road.

Scotland Touring Teams At Soccer

Scotland Touring Teams At Soccer

In the olden days, Scotland, at soccer, could send a second eleven team football side on tours of the World.

In the olden days Scottish sides were sent on tours of places liken Asia, Australia, the USA, and Canada,

I would love it if we could still do that. But I suppose the football clubs would not release players for second choice matches.

I would love it if Scotland could send a touring party of touring places like India, China, Pakistan, Brazil, Africa, Mexico, Indonesia.

I would particularly love a Scottish B side to tour China or India.

Maybe some Scottish football club sides could tour India or China. I would love Scotland, or some Scottish club sides to have an impact on these large places,

Celtic, Rangers, And Barcelona In The French League

Celtic, Rangers, And Barcelona In The French League.

I have heard some French football fans talk about inviting Celtic, Rangers and Barcelona into theiur league.

This would be a massive move for Glasgow Celtic and Glasgow Rangers. They would get to play bigger, sides and probably make more money. But travel would be difficult for fans.

Barcelona would be playing in a different country's league if they left the Spanish league to join the French League.

If Glasgow Celtic, Barcelona and Glasgow Rangers joined the French League it would increase the size of the French League but would damage the Scottish and Spanish leagues.

Plus there would be language issues.

Would UEFA allow it?

It would damage the other teams of the Scottish Premier to lose Celtic and Rangers. As Celtic and Rangers bring in crowds, TV money and advertising money.

The Spanish league has other big sides like Real Madrid, A Madrid, Valencia, Sevilla, and Villareal. So the Spanish League would still be a major league.

I think cross border leagues have often been frowned upon by some people.

Perhaps a cross border cup, on top of domestic leagues and UEFA football, with the French sides, plus  Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, Dundee United, and Barcelona could happen?

Edinburgh Should Host A European Final

Edinburgh Should Host A European Final.

We have had European finals in Aberdeen, (UEFA Super Cup final), Dundee (The UEFA Cup Final), and Glasgow (Champions League final, Cup Winners Cup final and UEFA Cup Finals).

Yet one obvious city not to host a major football European final is Edinburgh city the capital of Scotland.

There is Tynecastle, Easter Road, and Murrayfield,

I think Murrayfield Stadium would be a great location for a final of the Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference League or UEFA Super Cup.

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, so should have hosted a major European final at soccer by now.

Murrayfield is home to the Scottish Rugby Union side, but has hosted many soccer games. So I am sure they would be a great location for European UEFA final.

I Support the Celtic Nations Having a Cross Border Club Cup

I Support the Celtic Nations Having a Cross Border Club Cup.

I would love the Celtic nations of Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Brittany, The Isle of Man, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland to have a cross border group stage club trophy.

I would want all Scottish Premier sides, plus selected sides from the other the other Celtic nations to take part.

This would allow clubs to develop in the regions like Ireland, Wales, and Cornwall, by having big Scottish and Brittany club sides to play./

Some would say that Celtic and Rangers would not be bothered about playing part time teams from the other Celtic nations. But the point would be growth. Wales and Ireland both have the potential to have big sides in their leagues.

If Glasgow Celtic drew Bohemians, or Shamrock Rovers, in Dublin it could get a massive crowd. Far bigger than most crowds in the Scottish league.

The island of Ireland has some sleeping giants, that would grow from playing big Scottish sides every season.

It would also be great trips for the fans to beautiful parts of the World.

Imagine Aberdeen or Ross County getting to travel to Cork, or Nantes for a soccer game.

I accept that at present Ireland does not have massive club sides, but they could develop some massive clubs from being in this trophy. Plus Scottish football would be increasing the market audience by three times.

I would also like Wales to enter at least 6 sides, with 4 sides from the Welsh Leagues, plus Newport County and Wrexham.

Brittany has some massive sides, like Nantes, that could enter.

It would be a fun trophy.

Space could be made in the schedule by reorganising the domestic leagues.

I would still want to keep the domestic leagues and domestic cups, and entry for European competitions. But have on top of that a Cross Border Celtic Cup for club sides.

The Scottish Challenge Cup has had non-Scottish sides in it so UEFA have no problem with cross border cups.

Imagine games like Dundee United v Newport County, Nantes v Glasgow Rangers, Hibernian v Derry City, or Linfield v Heart of Midlothian.

Even now.

That was history programming into your mind.
