Scotland Need To Do Well In The European Championships.

Scotland Need To Do Well In The European Championships.

Hopefully Scotland can get out of the group stage of this year's European Championships.

Steve Clarke has built a decent team. There are some really good players for Scotland.

The team needs to beat some top teams, to get through the group stages. Scotland need to be on top form and to work well.

We need Scotland to do well. Scotland held the first international match. Make Scotland win.

Scotland 4 Faroe Islands 0 - March 2021

Scotland 4 Faroe Islands 0 - March 2021

This was a qualifier for the FIFA World Cup 2022. The Scotland v Faroe Islands game was played in Hampden Stadium, Glasgow.

A great result by the Scotland men's team.

John McGinn scored the first two goals for Scotland.

Che Adams scored the 3rd goal for Scotland.

Ryan Fraser scored the fourth goal for Scotland.

So Scotland need to keep up this decent set of results for Scotland.

This was a great result for Scotland against a difficult to beat side.

The other results in group today include;

Austria 0 Denmark 4.

Moldova 1 Israel 4.

A Team Of 10 Centre Backs, And One Keeper.

A Team Of 10 Centre Backs, And One Keeper.

A soccer tactics idea-

I often wonder would an entire team of centre backs work?

The centre backs are the defenders in the centre of defence.

I do not mean to play them all as centre backs. I mean playing the 10 centre backs in a normal formation. But with big powerful centre backs playing as left backs, right backs, wingers, midfielders, and strikers.

Imagine for instance an international team obviously playing a normal goalkeeper in goal. But then if they picked all the other positions of the team as their 10 most talented centre backs, in their nation.

Or a club team buying 10 great centre backs, and playing all of them in the team.

The logic behind it would be that every player would be a big powerful player. Capable of dominating every team at set pieces. Teams would be blown out of the water at set pieces. Both for defending and scoring,

The team could play long ball football in a dominating way.

I do not think Scotland, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, or Wales could pick an entire team of centre backs. As we probably don’t have enough big powerful centre backs for those positions.

But could the Netherlands, England, Germany, France, The USA, Spain, Brazil, Poland, Russia, the Ukraine, Argentina, as big heavily populated nations could pick an entire outfield team of centre backs.

What would such a team do against a normal team?

Imagine if England, Germany or Poland just picked an entire team of 6 foot 4 tall players, in every position.

The problem could be that the team might lack creativity. The team could perhaps be beaten on the wing, to humiliating extents.

The team might not have any natural goal scorers. The team would probably be reliant heading and set pieces.

But perhaps the winger positions could be given to the fastest big powerful centre backs.

Would a team of 10 big powerful centre backs just obliterate some teams? Would it be men against boys? Or would skillful nimble teams just run rings round them?

Would fans find it boring, watching a big powerful team?

Would this be a change that could happen in football?

In football we saw a great Barcelona team with Iniesta, Xavi, and Messi dominate Spanish and European football for years. This was not an entire team of massively tall players. So you do not have to be massive in height team to win games. Football can be about skill, and passing.

In male international rugby union, the teams have changed from the eighties. Players are bigger, taller, and more powerful in many positions. Now some people say rugby union is too reliant on tall powerful players. Some say it is going to result in serious long term damage to players, because the players are so big when they tackle each other.

Back to soccer.

It is true that many football teams play mostly 6 ft tall players.

But could an team be made up entirely of tall powerful players, chosen from the centre back position?

Do you need balance in a team? A team with a mixture of big physical players, and also fast players, and skillful creative players.

Do you need creative players, who can dribble past players, or score great free kicks? Do you need creative players in a team who can pass the ball well?

Would it be a waste of having 10 great centre backs in the team if no one could pass the ball for the corners, free kicks and crosses?

I would love a big country to pick 10 centre backs and a keeper in a team.  And then play against a normal team. It would be great fun to see if it would work.

Would it revolutionize football?

An exciting World Cup Qualifier at Hampden Stadium, Glasgow.

If Croatia And Portugal Can Produce Great International Soccer Teams, Why Can't Scotland?

If Croatia And Portugal Can Produce Great International Soccer Teams, Why Can't Scotland?

Croatia reached the 2018 World Cup Final.

Portugal won the 2016 European Championships.

They are around the same size as Scotland. So why can't Scotland produce a glut of great players?

We need to produce a glut of great international class players to do well.

Scotland used to produce tonnes of great international players.

It is noticeable that Portugal and Croatia both allow their big sides to play second teams in their lower divisions. This allows young players to get early competitive experience against top sides.

I think Scotland should do this.

Scotland should put forward a football system which ensures the top teams still have clubs that do well in Europe, but still have places available for young players to develop.

We need to put Scotland first.

Glasgow Celtic 1 Glasgow Rangers 1 - March 2021

Glasgow Celtic 1 Glasgow Rangers 1 March 2021.

There was a entertaining Old Firm Derby at Celtic Park, Glasgow, Scotland, that saw Glasgow Celtic draw one all with their biggest rivals Glasgow Rangers.

Elyounoussi scored first for Celtic.

Morelos scored the equaliser for Rangers.

It was one all at half-time. No goals happened in the second half.

It was the first time Morelos has scored  in an Old Firm derby.

Playing for Glasgow Celtic in terms of players starting or playing in substitute appearances were; Bain, Kenny, Welsh, Ajer, Laxalt. Brown, Soro, McGregor, Christie, Turnbull, Forrest, Elyounoussi, Rogic, Edouard, and Griffiths.

Playing for Glasgow Rangers in terms of players starting or playing in substitute appearances were; McGregor, Balogun Patterson, Goldson, Helander, Barisic, Kamara, Davis, Aribo, Wright, Hagi, Arfield, Morelos, Roofe, Kent.

It was a close game.

Rangers have already won the title. But Rangers are aiming for an unbeaten league season. It is a tough thing to do.

Investment in Scottish Football

Investment in Scottish Football.

I would love people to invest in Scottish football.

I think people need to be realistic about investment in Scottish football.

When people invest. They normally want to get the money back.

That is investment.

We need to find ways for Scottish teams being able to provide reward for investment.

There are three types of investors we could get for Scottish football;

1) People who want to put money in, and get more money back.

2) Owning a Scottish club as a status symbol. This would be like a billionaire or millionaire buying a fabergé egg

 or famous painting.

3) Charity to help the local community or club. This could involve investing in the club and investing in the surrounding town or area to develop the area.

To go into detail on these 3 justifications for investment.

1) People who want to put money in, and get more money back.

That is investment. If someone wants to invest 10 million euros or 100 million euros in a Scottish club. They would want the money back. But the only way they could get that money back is from two ways;

A) Qualifying for a league or trophy where you get that 10 million euros or 100 million euros back. At present the only way to do that is to finish high up enough in the Scottish League to qualify for Europe, and then qualify for the group stages. If a Scottish club got far in Europe they could get the money back. But Heart of Midlothian found that a difficult task. Even Glasgow Rangers tried that idea and did not manage to get enough success to pay back their spending,

I think if you put 10 million euros in any club other than Celtic or Rangers, you would still be smaller than the Old Firm in turnover and would likely finish behind them. So you would still have a realistic target of 3rd place in the league. This would not get you into the UEFA Champions League Group stages. And that 10 million euros investment would only be a significant investment for a year. So the club would struggle to build on that, without yearly investments of 10 million euros a year.

B) Have a football genius who buys in great bargain players who have not been spotted by other clubs and sells them to bigger clubs for huge transfer fees. But this is a difficult thing to achieve. Lots of clubs have tried this and not been able to find great players. And if someone was clever enough to sign players worth tens of millions of pounds, then that football talent spotter would soon be signed up by a bigger club anyway. To be able to make money on signings all the time is soccer alchemy.

So would someone invest in Scottish clubs in the hope of selling players on for bigger deals?

2) Owning a Scottish club as a status symbol.

Some people invest in clubs as a status symbol. Lots of billionaires invest in the clubs in the bigger European leagues and then use it to show their wealth and status. It is like buying a priceless artwork, mansion, or castle. This could be like the way mega rich people buy up horse stables and develop high status purchases of yachts.

This also happens in American sports. Where billionaires buy up big sports sides to win major league titles and build a legacy.

Some wealthy people even invest for reasons for improving on their moral reputations.

Is it likely that many billionaires will buy up many of the Scottish sides?

Will billionaires invest in Scotland to improve their status?

3) Charity.

This can be done as a way of just giving your wealth to a club with no intent of making the money back. Some billionaires have even invested in the surrounding area, to develop not just the club, but also the surrounding area. This can be done for altruistic reasons. Or of just wanting to give back to the community.

There have been people who have invested in Scottish football for charity. But it is a stroke of luck when that happens.

Scottish Football Should Prioritise European Football

Scottish Football Should Prioritise European Football.

I support all Scottish sides when playing non-Scottish sides. I support all Scottish sides in Europe including Glasgow Celtic and Glasgow Rangers.

I want every Scottish side to perform well against non-Scottish sides.

European football trophies are the true measure of the quality of Scottish football.

It is important Scottish sides do well in the Champions League, the Europa League and the new Europa Conference League.

Some people claim all that matters is how competitive the league is. But I do not think it is important in how competitive a league, when judging it's quality.

People want quality and passion in their leagues.

I think the most important thing is how many good players, and managers the Scottish soccer system can attract and develop.

Can it produce good teams who can do well in international competition?

Can Scotland produce great players from the club sides?

Can the clubs from Scotland do well in Europe?

That is the basis of national pride in the football system.

We need a system that produces strong players and teams who can perform well against non-Scottish sides.

We need strong club sides and a strong international side.

Thanks.

Scottish Football Is Not A Joke

Scottish Football Is Not  A Joke.

Scottish football is serious and intense.

Scottish football has the most passionate fans.

The first soccer international was played in Scotland.

Many of the greatest players and managers started playing or managing in Scotland,

Many great foreign players have played in the Scottish soccer leagues system.

Scotland football has some of the oldest and most historic football clubs.

Scotland have had massive wins against great international sides from all over Europe.

Scotland helped develop football as a global sport.

Scotland has 3 clubs who have won official European trophies.

Celtic have won the European Cup. Aberdeen and Glasgow Rangers won the European Cup Winners Cup,

Aberdeen also won the European Super Cup. While Dundee United have reached the UEFA Cup final.

Scottish club sides have beaten many of the biggest club sides in official European trophy games.

Scotland has great potential and football passion.

There Is Somewhere For Scottish Clubs To Go.

There Is Somewhere For Scottish Clubs To Go.

I heard someone say that there is nowhere for Scottish football sides to go. But there is.

European football is the place where Scottish sides can test themselves.

As well as prove themselves with trophy win in Scotland.

The top Scottish sides can qualify for Europe, and play massive European sides, in the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and the new Europa Conference League.

Clubs like Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Aberdeen, Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian, Motherwell, Dundee, and Dundee United can aim to go far in  European trophies and win massive games against massive great European sides.

So there is a place for the great Scottish sides to go.

Plus the top players and managers can show themselves in international football, and can show themselves in other  leagues when they move.

Thanks.

There Are More Than Two Sides In Scotland

There Are More Than Two Sides In Scotland.

This is not an anti-Old Firm post, in anyway.

I am glad Scotland has big clubs. I hope every Scottish club does well international competitions, including Celtic and Rangers.

But it gets on nerves when people say Scotland only has two clubs,

Even though Scotland has thousands of clubs.

As well as Glasgow Celtic, and Glasgow Rangers. Scotland also has Aberdeen who won the European Cup Winners Cup, and European Super Cup in  1983.

Scotland also has other big sides like Hibernian, Heart of Midlothian, Dundee United, Dundee, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, and others.

Including club sides who have produced great managers, and players within the Scottish football system.

For instance Sir Alex Ferguson played and coached various different sides in Scotland.

Many Scottish international have started at the smaller clubs.

Tonnes of Scottish clubs have won the major trophies such as Ross County, East Fife, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Raith Rovers, Queen's Park, Morton, and St Johnstone.

There are tonnes of clubs in Scotland with a rich history, trophies, and great players and managers,

That is not to put down Celtic and Rangers.

I want all Scottish sides to do well.

I Hope Scotland Gets Two Or More Places In The UEFA Champions League

I Hope Scotland Gets Two Or More places Places In The UEFA Champions League.

It would be great if the Scottish Premier was able to get back to having two places in the European Champions League.

This happened in the past a few times. I think it would be great if Scotland got back to having two sides in the Champions League Group stages.

The Champions League is the biggest club trophy in European football.

Obviously Glasgow Celtic and Glasgow Rangers would be favourites to win these places. But Aberdeen, Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian, Dundee United, Motherwell and other Scottish sides could compete for these places.

If Scotland got two teams in the Champions League group stages, it would earn more money for Scottish soccer. It would also raise the status of the Scottish Premier.

It is important for the Scottish Premier to be seen as one of the key leagues on the planet.

Scotland could keep and attract great players if clubs get far in Europe.

Will Scotland Be Able to Attract Great Players?

I hope Scottish clubs can attract and keep great players in Scottish football.

I recognise it is great to produce Scottish players who play in other top leagues. But it is also important for Scotland to have strong clubs sides, that can challenge for international trophies. Clubs like Aberdeen, Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Hibernian, Heart of Midlothian, Dundee United, Dundee, Motherwell, and others.

Often this means buying top non-Scottish players. It is great to have the best foreign players, playing in Scottish soccer. It is also entertaining for the fans, to have great players coming to Scotland.

Scotland needs to be a major power broker in World soccer.

Thanks.

The Alan Parsons Project - Standing on Higher Ground

Should The Scottish Junior Cup Allow In Non-League Sides?

Should The Scottish Junior Cup Allow In Non-League Sides?

I mean keep the Scottish Junior Cup. But also allow in sides from the senior level, Scottish Lowland League, and the Scottish Highland League.

The Highland League and Lowland League are the two leagues below the SPFL. They produce teams who can replace sides relegated from the SPFL.

But my idea would be to allow in non-league sides into the Scottish Junior Cup,

This way all the best non-league sides would be in the Scottish Junior Cup. Including the junior sides and the leading Lowland and Highland League sides.

Maybe even allow in the B or colt sides of the big Scottish Premier sides. That is allow in colt teams from Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Aberdeen, Heart of Midlothian, Motherwell, Dundee United and Hibernian.

This would increase the number of top sides in the trophy.

The other idea is to keep the Scottish Junior Cup as it is, but create a new Scottish Juniors And Non-League Cup as the premier non-league cup trophy of Scotland.

Once again this would be all the Scottish junior sides and Scottish non-league sides. But also with the colt or b teams of the big SPFL sides again. This would be a high quality trophy, and could raise interest in non-SPFL Scottish football.

Imagine games like Auchinleck Talbot v Glasgow Rangers Colts, Largs Thistle v Aberdeen Colts, Glasgow Celtic Colts v Kelty Hearts, and Linlithgow Rose V Dundee United Colts.

Scotland Record Win In Football History

Scotland Record Win In Football History. This is referring to men's football.

The record win Scotland have in  World football history was 11 to zero, in  Glasgow, Scotland, on the  23rd of February 1901.

Scotland were the greatest international team of early international football. It is the true golden days of Scottish football.

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, Scotland had big wins against Ireland, Wales and England.

Scotland's biggest win of 11-0 was against a united Ireland side before Ireland was separated by partition.

Ireland eventually split as a football nation between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Northern Ireland remained part of the United Kingdom, but like Wales, Scotland, and England played as a separate football nation. While the Republic of Ireland was independent and ruled from Dublin, Ireland.

So Scotland, Wales, England, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland became the national sides of the islands of Great Britain and Ireland.

In the golden era of Scottish football. Scotland won 9–0 against Wales. This was in Glasgow, Scotland on the  23rd of March 1878. It is at present still the record defeat for a Wales national senior men's soccer side.

The record home defeat for England is at present, 1–6 against Scotland on the 12th of March 1881. Showing this was Scotland's golden era.

Biggest Game In History Of British Club Football

The Biggest Game In The History Of British Club Soccer.

The 1936–37 Scottish Cup final in Hampden Glasgow. The Cup was won by Glasgow Celtic who defeated Aberdeen in the final by 2 goals to one. The game was played before a European record domestic crowd of 147,365.

So as no other British club game has had such a big attendance. This game can be said to be the most important game in British football history.

Most Overperforming Team In Scottish Football This Century

Most Overperforming Team In Scottish Football This Century.

Considering the big cities like Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow, and Edinburgh should provide big clubs who win trophies.

The most overperforming team of the 21st Century are St Johnstone of Perth, Scotland.

In this century they have won a Scottish FA Cup in 2014. Plus the Scottish League Cup in 2021,

Added to that they have finished 3rd in the top tier league once this century. And they have won the Scottish Challenge Cup in 2008.

For a city of under 50,000 citizens, this is an impressive achievement.

Could the MLS become the Biggest Soccer League in the World?

Could the MLS become the Biggest Soccer League in the World?

I think the North American soccer league known as the MLS could be the biggest soccer league in the world, within decades.

It could become bigger than the major European leagues such as the Scottish, Italian, Dutch, English, Polish, Belgian, Romanian, Ukrainian, Russian, French, German, Spanish, Swiss, Portuguese, and Greek leagues.

The USA has the largest population of the Western developed nations.

Added to that the Canadian teams enter the MLS. So the USA and Canada is a massive wealthy developed soccer market.

I think soccer is growing in the USA, and Canada. I think one day the American sides will be the biggest on the planet. Bigger than the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

I think the immigrant populations coming to America, are more likely to follow soccer. So these new demographics will progress soccer into becoming the biggest North American sport.

I would love Scottish sides to play big North American sides in competitive trophies.

Perhaps there could be a British – North America Soccer trophy?

That way the biggest teams from Scotland like Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers and Aberdeen could play top MLS sides.

Maybe the top MLS sides could be invited into the UEFA Champions League,  Europa League or Europa Conference League?

The USA has massive cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas.

At present the USA has big basketball, baseball, American football, and ice hockey sides.

I hope that Americans support their own sides and develop their own league into being a super league of the World.

But I also hope the MLS continues to respect international soccer.

So international soccer is still the priority of soccer.

Imagine a huge new league with massive stadiums ion huge cities in developed nations.

The MLS is that league.

At present the system has ;

The Western Conference.

Austin, Colorado Rapids, Dallas, Houston Dynamo, LA Galaxy, Los Angeles, Minnesota United, Portland Timbers, Real Salt Lake, San Jose Earthquakes, Seattle Sounders, Sporting Kansas City, Vancouver Whitecaps.

The Eastern Conference .

Atlanta United, Chicago Fire,  Cincinnati, Columbus Crew SC, D.C. United, Inter Miami CF, CF Montréal, Nashville SC, New England Revolution, New York City, New York Red Bulls, Orlando City SC, Philadelphia Union, Toronto

Other teams could include;

Charlotte FC, Sacramento Republic, St. Louis City SC.

The three North American clubs who have had players play for Scotland while playing for their club are Chicago Fire,  Sporting Kansas City, and Vancouver White caps.

The Chicago Fire player was Sean Maloney.

The Sporting Kansas City player was Johnny Russell.

The Vancouver Whitecaps player was Kenny Miller.

I am sure as North American soccer grows. More Scottish players will be capped for Scotland while playing for North American soccer side.

I think the MLS has the potential to be the biggest soccer league on the planet.

Who Will Be Scottish Soccer Player Of The Year 2021?

Who Will Be Scottish Player Of The Year 2021?

As Glasgow Rangers won the title, I would expect the favourites to come from Glasgow Rangers, as Rangers have won the league title.

But some players might boost their chances due to performing well for Scotland.

From Glasgow Rangers possible candidates could be Allan McGregor, James Tavernier (captain), Filip Helander, Kemar Roofe, Connor Goldson, Steven Davis, Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos, Borna BariÅ¡ić, Ianis Hagi, Joe Aribo, Glen Kamara, Scott Arfield, and Ryan Jack.

From Glasgow Celtic possible candidates could be Ryan Christie, Scott Brown, Mohamed Elyounoussi, Kristoffer Ajer, David Turnbull, Odsonne Édouard, Tom Rogic, and Callum McGregor.

Other candidates are Lewis Ferguson, Andrew Considine, Ross McCrorie, and Joe Lewis all of Aberdeen FC.

At Hibernian FC, the candidates could be Martin Boyle, Kevin Nisbet, Paul Hanlon, Ryan Porteous, Alex Gogic, and Christian Doidge.

At Livingston the candidates for Scottish Player of the Year could include Nicky Devlin, Scott Pittman, Jon Guthrie, Marvin Bartley, Craig Sibbald, Alan Forrest, Scott Robinson, Julien Serrano and Jason Holt.

At St Mirren the possible candidates could include Joe Shaughnessy, Jamie McGrath, Jonathan Obika, Conor McCarthy, Marcus Fraser and others.

At St Johnstone possible candidates include Scott Tanser, David Wotherspoon, Liam Gordon, and Jason Kerr.

Other candidates could include Devante Cole of Motherwell, Ross Callachan of Hamilton, Nicky Clark and Lawrence Shankland of Dundee United, and Chris Burke of Kilmarnock.

To win the award you do not have to be Scottish. You can be a player playing in the Scottish soccer system for one of the club sides.

Scottish Soccer is the best.

 Scottish Soccer is the best.

It is the most intense and passionate in World football.

It is one of the oldest soccer nations. With one of the two oldest international sides. One of the oldest league systems, and cup systems on the planet.

Scotland has three clubs who have won European trophies.

Scotland has a rich and varied history in football.

Scotland has produced tonnes of football players and managers.

Some of the best non-Scottish sides have Scottish people as rich parts of their history.

There are thousands of soccer clubs in Scotland.

Scottish football is the best on the planet.

Who Will be Scottish Manager of the Year 2020-21?

Who Will be Scottish Manager of the Year 2020-21?

Could it be Steve Clarke for qualifying Scotland for a major championships?

Could it be Steve Gerrard for wining the Scottish Premier with Glasgow Rangers?

Could it be David Martindale for the good job he has done at Livingston?

Could it be Jack Ross for the job he has managed in transforming Hibernian?

Could it be Callum Davidson for winning the Scottish League Cup at St Johnstone?

Will someone else manage something even bigger later in the season?

My vote would be Steve Clarke. As Scotland is the priority for me.

Slavia Prague 1 Rangers 1 in the Europa League 1st Leg.

Slavia Prague 1 Rangers 1 in the Europa League 2020-21.

This result leaves the Europa League tie in the balance. With one home game left for Glasgow Rangers against Slavia Prague.

Glasgow Rangers have an away goal. But Prague have some top players.

I support all the Scottish club in Europe, including Celtic and Rangers,

I hope Glasgow Rangers get past Slavia Prague and go on to win the Europa League.

There are some great teams left in the trophy.. I would love a Scottish club to win one of the UEFA trophies again,

Rangers winning the Europa League, would be bigger than winning the domestic Premier title.

I put winning European trophies as bigger than winning any domestic national title or domestic national cup.

Scotland Qualifying For The 2022 Soccer World Cup

Scotland Qualifying For The 2022 Soccer World Cup.

I am Scottish, so I hope Scotland qualify for the 2022 soccer World Cup.

It is especially important as Scotland played the first soccer international in 1872. So the World Cup will be the 150th year of international soccer.

In the qualifying group for Scotland are Israel, Austria, Denmark, the Faroe Islands, and Moldova.

Scotland v the Faroe Islands is like a local derby as the Shetlands of Scotland are close to the Faroe Islands.

Scotland v Austria is a game that has happened many times. Scotland have a long footballing history with Austria.

Scotland have played Israel many times in recent years, and beat them on penalties in their play-off semi-final for qualification the European Championships.

Scotland have a mixed record against Denmark.

Scotland have only played Moldova few times.

Scotland need to perform well in Group F to qualify.

Scotland have some good players.

Hopefully Scotland will beat every team in the group.

Key players like Robertson, McTominay, Christie, McGregor, Forrest, Jack, McGinn will hopefully  lift Scotland to many wins.

Good luck Scotland.

McInnes Is No Longer Aberdeen FC Manager

Derek McInnes Is No Longer Aberdeen FC Manager.

I think this is a sad day for Aberdeen FC.

Derek McInnes was the greatest manager of Aberdeen FC since the Alex Smith and Jocky Scott partnership.

McInnes won the League Cup in season 2013-2014.

He also manged Aberdeen FC to another two League Cup Finals, and a reached a Scottish Cup Final.

He also took Aberdeen to League Runners-up, 4 times.

He qualified for Europe every year as manager.

He led some great European performances against Rijeka, Groningen, and Viking Stavenger,

He had a great win record. He made Aberdeen a consistent performer in Scottish football.

He helped develop great players at Aberdeen like Scott Wright, Scott McKenna, Sam Cosgrove, Graeme Shinnie, Niall McGinn, Jonny Hayes, Ryan Hedges, Ryan Christie, Danny Ward, Shaleum Logan, Gary MacKay-Steven, Kenny McLean, Joe Lewis, Lewis Ferguson, \Tommie Hoban, Ross McCrorie, James Maddison, Ash Taylor and others,

I think he will be regarded as a very good Aberdeen manager,

He was consistent as a manager.

I hope McInnes finds another good club to manage.

Aberdeen FC are a good club. But I am sure McInnes has a high reputation as a manger of football clubs.

I hope Aberdeen FC get a manager as consistent as McInnes.

McInnes was manager of Aberdeen FC from 2013 - 2021.

He was a successful Aberdeen manager.

Glasgow Rangers Are Scottish Premier Champions - 2021

Glasgow Rangers Are Scottish Premier Champions - 2021.

Congratulations to Rangers fans, players and staff, on winning their first Scottish Premier title since 2011.

Dundee United drew with Glasgow Celtic in Dundee 0 - 0. That means that Rangers cannot finish behind Celtic on points.

Glasgow Rangers have won the title under their now legendary manager Steven Gerrard.

Gerrard has won the title at Glasgow Rangers for the first time.

Glasgow Celtic had won the Scottish Premier title for nine season in a row.

Rangers have so far played 32 games, and have 88 points.

Celtic have 68 points after 32 games.

With 6 games left for both sides, and 3 points for a win. That means there are only a maximum 18 points left for Glasgow Celtic to get. So even if Rangers lost all their remaining games, and Celtic won all their remaining games. Then Glasgow Celtic would still be two points behind Glasgow Rangers.

The top scorers for Rangers in the Scottish Premier so far this season, are James Tavernier with 11 goals. And Alfredo Morelos, and Kemar Roofe with 10 goals each.

Also Ryan Kent, Connor Goldson, Borna BariÅ¡ić, Steven Davis, Ianis Hagi, and Ryan Jack amongst others have been key for Glasgow Rangers in winning the Scottish Premier.

Rangers have also had a good run in the Europa League.

The Scottish Premier title is title number 55 for Glasgow Rangers.

The biggest win for Rangers, in the Scottish Premier, up to this point this season is 8-0 against Hamilton in November.

Their second biggest win in the league for Glasgow Rangers so far this season, is 5-0 against Ross County in January.

Rangers have not lost in the Scottish Premier so far this season.

5 Ideas I Support For Scottish Football

5 Ideas I Support For Scottish Football.----

OK so here are five of my ideas in total;

1) Put B or colt teams of the big sides in the lower divisions. So that young players can get early experience of competitive football. This is about ensuring that all young Scottish players get early experience of competitive soccer. Those players can be developed. The more top players Scotland has, the better the international team will be. The priority for me is the international side.

They play B sides in the lower divisions of Spain, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, and Croatia. And Scotland used to play B sides in the old C Division against first team sides,

We need Scotland to produce more players. But we also need Scottish club teams to do well in Europe

So by allowing the first teams for the big sides to continue to sign experienced Scottish and foreign players, but still have an opportunity for young Scottish players in their colt or B sides. This ensures Scottish clubs will perform to maximum potential in international club trophies yet still develop top young players.

2) Have a 16 team Scottish Premier.

This way more teams can be in the top league. The number of games can be cut in the league to 30 a season,

3) With extra free weeks freed up. That opens up the schedule for more trophies. I would support all Scottish Premier sides playing in a cross-border cup, like the Atlantic League Cup,

The trophy would be a group stage trophy followed by a knockout stage.

This would be a trophy on top of domestic and European football. So on top of the domestic trophies and on top of the UEFA Champions League, the Europa League and the new Europa Conference League.

My idea would be to have an Atlantic League Cup consisting of teams from small to medium power European nations such as Poland, Sweden, Norway, Albania, Switzerland, Armenia, Georgia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Lithuania, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Hungary, Finland, Lithuania, Greece, Austria, Slovakia, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, and Bulgaria.

There could even be larger countries like France, the Ukraine, and Russia wanting to take part.

It could even be possible for teams from North America, Central America, Asia, and Africa to take part. After all South African rugby clubs have taken part in the rugby Pro14 in the previous 10 years, So if rugby teams from South Africa can play club sides from Italy, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, then why can’t African soccer sides play European soccer sides in a competitive football trophy?

I would be happy for a trophy to start even if it was just 3 or 4 countries entering teams at the start,

Imagine great games like Glasgow Celtic v Ajax, Glasgow Rangers v Porto, Aberdeen v AEK Athens, Hibernian v Basel, Dundee United v Copenhagen, Heart of Midlothian v AIK Stockholm, Ross County v Rapid Vienna, Legia Warsaw v Motherwell, Sporting Lisbon v Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Dundee v Sparta Prague, Falkirk v IFK Göteborg, and St Johnstone v Brondby.

4) Scotland to play more B international matches against the home nations.

5) Have a new national non-league cup between Scottish non-league and Scottish junior sides, As there is junior football, the Lowland League and the Highland League. Plus lots of other leagues.

Thanks for reading these ideas. --

The Race For Third In The Scottish Premier 2021

The Race For Third In The Scottish Premier 2021.

It looks like Hibernian are still favourites to get third in the Scottish Premier this season, under their boss Jack Ross. -

Aberdeen are 3 points behind Hibernian. With Aberdeen having played one more game than Hibernian.

If Aberdeen go on a good run then they could still take third place, which would be like winning the Non-Old Firm Title. Glasgow Celtic and Glasgow Rangers are in second an first at present.

Aberdeen have had a good era since 2013 under McInnes. He has been runner-up in the league four times, and third placed once.

I hope Aberdeen are patient with McInnes. As Hibs, Dundee United, and Hearts have been relegated and promoted in the last 10 years. So all three show that big clubs can do worse than finish fourth in the top tier.

Aberdeen are getting used to a new tactical system having lost lots of key players in transfers.

Hibernian have done superbly to rebuild to a force that can qualify for Europe.

Livingston are 12 points behind Hibernian. So it is very unlikely they could finish in 3rd. Although if Aberdeen go on a bad run, then Livingston are still capable of overtaking Aberdeen.

Perhaps if St Mirren, and St Johnstone go on incredible runs then even they could finish fourth.

Thanks.

Such great goal scorers include, James McGrory, Robert Low McPhail,  Hugh Ferguson,  William Reid, James McColl, Robert Ferrier, Ally McCoist, David Wilson, William MacFadyen, Kenny Miller, Andrew Cunningham, James Smith, Willie Wallace, Stevie Chalmers, Joe McBride, David McCrae, Sir Alex Ferguson, Tommy Coyne, John Robertson, Joe Harper, Charlie Nicholas, Bobby Lennox, Henrik Larsson, Lawrie Reilly, Willie Bauld, Kenny Dalglish, Leigh Griffiths, Billy Dodds, Paul Sturrock, Drew Jarvie, Scott McDonald, George Hamilton, Eddie Turnbull, Jimmy Wardhaugh, James McFadden, Mo Johnston, Steve Archibald, Robert Cumming Hamilton, Derek Riordan, James William Fleming, Kris Boyd, Patrick Gallagher.

Let's hope the Scottish League has more great goal scorers in it's future history. -

A great goal scorer can lead a team to great victories and trophies.

The ideal would be to have some goal scorers qualified to play for Scotland, scoring goals in league football. This would mean that the Scotland national side would develop from a great goal scorer. But there have been some great goal scorers in Scottish football qualified to play for other international sides, such as Henrik Larsson.

It is great have foreign scorers in Scottish football.

But it would also be great to provide some great Scottish qualified players.

Scotland has produced strikers scoring goals in other nation's leagues such as Denis Law, John Campbell, David McLean, Jimmy Ross, David Halliday, Ted MacDougall, Alex Young, William Moir, David Herd, and Hughie Gallacher.

I hope for the best for Scottish soccer. --

Thanks. -

Universe Poem By Me.

Universe Poem By Me.

And in this Universe.

Death is a moral curse.

Stolen by the truth.

Sunken by a naked hurt.

Hollowed by the gaze of ghosts.

The sky was blue.

But windows did not hide the inside.

Was it a face, or a reflection?

Did it fear, or threaten?

Such beauty and peace.

Enwrapped the frightened.

Was it me or that?

Whichever, shall I ever know?

Stan & Ollie 2018 Is A Good Movie

Stan & Ollie the movie made in  2018 is a good movie.

I thought Steve Coogan and  John C. Reilly played the two central characters well.

The film was informative, moving, funny, and interesting.

 The storyline was interesting.

Shirley Henderson, and Nina Arianda were top quality in the movie.

The film was directed by the Scottish director Jon S. Baird.

I liked the movie. I have been a fan of Laurel and Hardy. So it was very interesting to see a film about their lives.

The Scottish Premier Relegation Battle 2021

The Scottish Premier Relegation Battle 2021.

The race to avoid relegation seems at this point to be between Ross County, Hamilton and Kilmarnock.

I think Motherwell and Dundee United are safe.

Although at this point. Ross County, Hamilton and Dundee United each have a game in hand on Motherwell and Kilmarnock.

St Johnstone and St Mirren are even safer in the relegation battle, and are more likely to be aiming for a top six place.

St Johnstone have had a great season with their League Cup trophy win.

It would be a big blow to any club to get relegated. But many relegated Scottish Premier sides have come back to the Premier quickly.

The relegation zone is a tough place to be. It is stressful.

I think we should expand the Scottish Premier to 16 teams, with a 30 game league season. To have more weeks left free for extra cross border cup trophies with other nations.
