Will Scottish League One and Scottish League Two be played in 2020-21?
Some people have been claiming that if no fans are allowed to watch games, in Scottish football stadiums, then it would be economically impossible to play the games in League One and League Two. League One and League two are the third and fourth tiers of Scottish football.
Here is an alternative.
How about they have a shorted season? Just to keep the clubs ticking over? Or a regionalised league with small groups of four, and a cup played over a month. Clubs might not be able to play an entire league season. But maybe they could afford a month of football?
With promotion and relegation decided by performance in a regionalised cup trophy.
It could be the Scottish Challenge Cup played? With performances in the cup deciding what leagues each team plays in when the crisis is over.
The problem is if the League One and League are stopped and never return. That would be a huge shame. As we need as many clubs in Scotland as possible. Also I still say the big teams should have B teams playing in the lower leagues to give young players early competitive football experience.
Thanks.
