In Scottish football, Aberdeen and Dundee United are known as the New Firm. In response to the Old Firm. The New firm was a name given to Aberdeen and Dundee United to mark the competing with the Old Firm of Celtic and Rangers for trophies. This was because of the rise of Aberdeen and Dundee United from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
