There is more to the Scottish League than who the Champions are.

There is more to the Scottish League than who the Champions are.

I have heard it said that the Scottish League is just about Celtic and Rangers, just because they win the vast majority of leagues.

But there is more too leagues than who win the league.

There is also playing for as high a place in the league as you can achieve.

There is also qualifying for Europe, beating bigger teams in individual games, avoiding relegation, winning divisional titles, getting promoted from the non-league system. There is also going on cup runs, causing upsets, avoiding upsets, developing players for bigger sides, developing managers for bigger sides, winning cup trophies, winning local derbies, playing entertaining football,  inventing new football ideas.

There is also the banter between fans, the songs, and t-shirts of the clubs.

There is so much rich history to the Scottish football system. Even if it is normally Celtic or Rangers who win the title.

In every league there are teams who have never won the league title. Does that make them have no history as a club?  I do not think so.

There is more to the history of a club, or league, than who wins the title.

Super piece of classical music.

Cosgrove was a good player for Aberdeen

Sam Cosgrove was a great player for Aberdeen FC in Scotland. Now he has signed for another club. He did some great performances for the Dons. He will be well remembered by Scottish football fans. He had a great physical presence as a forward for the Dons.

He had some great goals for Aberdeen FC. He was a classic big forward.

Now Aberdeen have been linked to other strikers.

Ross Stewart has also moved from Ross County.

Who Should Sponsor Scottish Football? Ethics

Who Should Sponsor Scottish Football? Ethics.

It seems Scottish football wants to choose ethical considerations when choosing sponsors of clubs, trophies, and leagues.

It is a difficult choice. As Scottish football needs investment and money to ensure the clubs can get great players, invest in youth systems, hire good coaches and build great stadiums.

Scottish football is ultra competitive, and the clubs are fighting for every coin.

We need to make sure Scottish football has investment, to attract players to maintain interest in the leagues. But we have to make sure that ethical considerations are taken into account.

We need to make sure clubs do not get involved with unethical organisations, unethical companies and corruption,  We need to make sure we do not encourage fans to take up unhealthy habits. We need to make sure fans are not motivated to get involved in damaging situations.

So to help that football needs to be ethically invested.

But we also want to make sure Scottish football has massive investment. As other rival leagues are looking to make take money from whatever source they can.

Does Scottish football puts ethnics or investment first? It is a tough choice.

Who Should Sponsor Scottish Football in terms of investment and ethics.

I think the are some good points to raise.

Scottish soccer is the best soccer system on the Earth.

Thanks for reading the post. -  ---

Scottish Football Should Be Big in the USA

Scottish Football Should Be Big in the USA.

Scotland has a historical league with a rich history. I think more people in the USA should watch Scottish football. The Scottish League  is the most intense soccer league in the world, with the most passionate and intense fans.

I think more Americans in the USA, and Canada should follow Scottish soccer. As it has a deep history.

Cross Border Cups For Scottish Club Football

Cross Border Cups For Scottish Club Football

I think Scottish Football Should Look for More Cross Border Cups On Top Of Domestic And European Football.

I want us to remain in our domestic league and to remain the UEFA competitions. But have on top of that a cup trophy with other smaller to medium sized nation's club sides.

So we could have cross border cups with club teams from other European nations. Maybe even teams from Africa or North America.

I think it would be fun for Scottish club sides to play club sides from overseas. It would glamorise Scottish football.

We could have a cross border trophy with teams from various nations such as Poland, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Portugal, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Greece, Portugal, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Wales, Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Turkey, Cornwall, the Faroes, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Turkey, or Romania,

Maybe even African nations like Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, South Africa, or Nigeria.

Maybe even North American nations like the USA, Canada or Mexico.

I would love Scottish club sides to play more cross border games. -

I Think Lawwell Did a Good Job As Glasgow Celtic Chief Executive.

There seems to be some critic because Celtic are struggling to make it 10 in a row. But he did manage to get Celtic to 9 in a row. They made some great player investments in his time. Had some great wins over Barcelona, Lazio, and other sides. This season has not been great for Celtic. But you cannot win every game.

Peter Lawwell deserves some respect from the Celtic fans for keeping the club well financially.

European Premier Golden Cup.

European Premier Golden Cup.

I think Scottish, Welsh, and Irish (The Republic and Northern Ireland,) sides should get other small to medium sized European nations to take part in a new cross border European club trophy, on top of domestic and European competitive football / soccer.-

This could be called the European Premier Golden Cup.

A club trophy consisting of the leading club sides from the small to medium sized European nations.

So this would be on top of the Champions League, Europa League, and the new European Conference League.

UEFA and FIFA have indicated they would not allow a Cross border league or European Super League.

But UEFA and FIFA have not spoke out against cross border cups.

That way we could keep the best of both worlds. Where we keep our domestic leagues, but have more European games.

Scotland has been allowed to have Irish, Welsh, and English sides in the Scottish Challenge Cup.

The Scandinavians held a Royal League in recent history that involved participating club teams from various nations.

So Scottish football should explore options to have cross border cups involving teams from various Northern European nations and Portugal.

There are lots of small to medium sized countries in northern, central and southern  Europe, that Scotland could join with to have a cross border club trophy on top of already existing domestic and European competitions.

Nations to invite into the trophy could include Scotland, Iceland, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Lithuania, Russia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Norway, the Faroe Islands, Latvia, Estonia, Luxembourg, Wales, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Bosnia.

 League -re-organisation

To cope with increased number of games participating nations may need to reduce the number of games in their domestic set up.
I think we need extra cross border cups to give Scottish sides tough teams to play against more regularly.

The increased revenue could be massive.

Scandinavia is a massive TV market for soccer,

Any nations would do.

I think any nations to take part would do, as long as one is Scotland, with a 3 or more participating nations would do.

Organisation of trophy.

There could be a group stage of guaranteed games for the leading Scottish sides against foreign sides,

Perhaps the top four Scottish sides could participate in the trophy. They would all enter at the group stage but this could be followed by single leg knockout rounds that lead to a final,.

I think this would be a fun idea,

Thanks.

Scotland should play Wales in 2026 at Soccer?

The first international soccer game played by Wales, was in 1876 against Scotland.

It ended with a 4-0 win for Scotland.

So in my view  Scotland should play Wales in 2026 at Soccer to mark the 150th anniversary since the milestone game.

It could be called the 1876 150 Cup.

It would be a great way to mark the first 150th year of Welsh international soccer.

Scotland won against Wales, 3-1 in 1976 in the British Home Championship. That was the 100 years after Wales first played international soccer.

Chairlift - Ch-Ching

Chairlift - Ch-Ching (Video)

What is Scottish football doing for the 150th and 200th anniversaries of international football?

What is Scottish football doing for the 150th and 200th anniversaries of international football?

The first international soccer match was between Scotland and England in 1872, in Glasgow Scotland.

That means the 150th anniversary of international football will be in 2022.

The 200th anniversary will be in 2072.

Scotland should play a 150th anniversary against England in 2022, in Glasgow, Scotland.

The game could get a lot of media attention.

Hopefully fans will be allowed back in stadiums by then.  But even if it has to be played at an empty stadium, the game should go ahead.,

If Scotland do not qualify for the 2022 World Cup, then Scotland should host a mini tournament for teams that did not qualify, for the World Cup, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of international football.

It could be called the 150 International Cup.

Plus this is when my ideas get a bit eccentric.

Surely Scotland should have hosted the 2022 World Cup as it would have been the 150th anniversary of the first international soccer game,

But as we can’t do that. Scotland should be marked down to host the 2072 World Cup Final.

Imagine it in 51 years time Scotland hosting the World Cup Final.

With Scotland guaranteed qualification.

By that time there will probably be teams from Mars, and the Moon taking part.

The climate of Scotland might be boiling hot by then, due to global warming.

But seriously Scotland should do something big to celebrate the 150th anniversary of international football.

In 2023 it will be  the 150th anniversary of England’s first home international. So perhaps Scotland could play England at Wembley in that year?

FIFA and UEFA should make sure Scotland and England celebrate the 150th and 200th anniversary of international football.

Perhaps there could be s combined Great Britain teams against a Rest of the World team, played at Hampden.

Also Wales could play in 2026 against Scotland, for the 150th anniversary off Wales first international game which was against Scotland in 1876.

Could An Irish Side play in the Scottish Soccer League?

Could An Irish Side play in the Scottish Soccer League?

Scotland has a professional league.

In the nineteen nineties there was talk of Clydebank of Scotland, moving to Dublin to create a club in Dublin, Ireland, that could play in the Scottish League.

I think this would have been cool.

Dublin, Belfast and Cork have the potential to produce massive football sides.

But it is difficult because there are not enough pro sides in Ireland to attract supporters at a massive level to  most of the teams.

If a Dublin, Cork, or Belfast side was playing in the Scottish Premier, it would be playing pro sides of a big size every week, which could attract a huge support to a Dublin, Cork or Belfast side,

I think this would help Scottish football, as we would have more big sides playing in the Scottish League. While Ireland would have pro sides of a massive size.

Dublin, Cork and Belfast have the potential to produce sides as big as or bigger than Copenhagen, Brondby, or Aberdeen.

Thanks.

Could a big foreign soccer side buy a Scottish club as a feeder side?

Could a big foreign soccer side buy a Scottish club as a feeder side?

I would not mind if a big foreign side bought up a Scottish club side as a feeder side.

It would be cool. I do not mean one of the bigger sides who do not need to be a feeder side.

The likes of Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, and Dundee United are too big to benefit from being a feeder side.

But maybe one of the smaller part time sides could grow by helping to develop sides of big foreign teams.

They could have professional players, playing for them.

Small Scottish sides could have some big players, playing for them at an early stage in their football history.

It could allow Scotland to get investment form abroad. It could allow Scottish football to be a development ground for great players.

It could allow other players in Scotland to benefit from playing talented foreign players.

Scotland has a high standard of football, so would be a good place to develop young players.

A Royal Team In Scottish Football

A Royal Team In Scottish Football.

In Spain they have Real Madrid, Real Zaragoza, Real Villareal, Real Sociedad. Real Betis, Real AvilĂ©s CF, Real Aranjuez CF, and other football clubs with royal patronage.

As real means Royal in Spanish,

Maybe the British Royal Family could give some Scottish clubs royal patronage?

So a football team in Scotland could have Royal stuck before or after it's original name.

Some people make jokes about the name real, in the English language, with joke names like Unreal Madrid, in answer to the great name of Real Madrid.

Real Madrid is a famous name in world football.

Maybe even the Spanish royal family could give patronage to a Scottish club side. So the Scottish club side would have Real instead of Royal before their name.

Scotland V Old Firm Game

 Scotland V Old Firm Game.

How about a game of the national football team of Scotland playing a combined Glasgow Celtic / Glasgow Rangers side?

This would be fun. It could be a great test for the Scotland players, at a high standard of football.

It could be a testimonial for a player or for a charity event.

I think it would get a good crowd. With the Old Firm fans supporting the Old Firm select, and the rest of Scotland supporting the Scottish national side.

It could be held at Hampden Stadium.

Celtic and Rangers are Scottish clubs but they have international support.

Scotland Should Host the International Soccer World Cup Final In 2072

Scottish Football Should Host the International Soccer World Cup.

Scotland invented international football. The first officially recognised game of international football was held in Glasgow, Scotland. So if international football wants to return to it's birthplace it should return to Scotland. With Scotland hosting the finals.

The first international was played by Scotland in 1872 against our most passionate and intense rivals.

I think Scotland should host the 2072 World Cup Final. With that being the 200th anniversary of international football. A massive stadium should be constructed for this purpose.

Scotland Should Host the International Soccer World Cup Final In 2072.

I think it would be a great idea.

How about a woman coaching one of the top male Scottish football sides?

How about a woman coaching one of the top male Scottish football sides?

How about a woman getting one of the top male teams football jobs?

I think it would be great if one of the leadings men's football teams in Scotland appointed a woman as their coach or manager.

Woman have run countries, so why on Earth could a woman not manage a leading men's football side?

Women have run massive businesses, charities, schools, and been heads of state of various nations.

Running a male football team, or the male national side would easily be able to be handled by a woman.

Shelley Kerr managed the Scottish women's team., and did a good job. But she also managed the Stirling University men's side.

So why not go even further and get one of the leading Scottish professional sides giving a woman a job running the men's team.

Men have been managing women's teams for years. So why cannot we try vice versa? And give women a chance to prove themselves running one of the leading Scottish men's sides.

I would love to have women running sides in the men's Scottish Premier .

The Light Gatherer - Joy&Andrew

A song of music.

There is nothing wrong with being a farmer league

There is nothing wrong with being a farmer league.

I do not regard it as an insult for people to call the Scottish League a farmer league. Farmer league is used as an offensive term to describe leagues that just develop talent for the biggest leagues in the World.

Well I hope Scotland does that.

I hope we produce players, managers, coaches, ideas, tactics, innovations, and systems that spread throughout the World of football.

Scotland is a small nation and cannot realistically expect to have the biggest league in the World financially.

But it can have the most innovative and passionate and intense league in the World.

If we get called a farmer league then I will take that as a compliment.

Scottish football is the most passionate and intense in the World.

Now is the time for the teams to innovate even more.

And also it is great when the Scottish national side does well, and the Scottish clubs get far in European trophies.

Some of the bigger countries like France, Germany and the Netherlands have been described as having farmer leagues. They should also take it as a compliment.

Hearts and Hibs should use Murrayfield for Big Games

Hearts and Hibs should use Murrayfield for Big Edinburgh Games.

They could get bigger attendances and make more money.

They could use it for derbies, games against the Old Firm and big friendly games.

They could get record attendances for the season.

How about two Hearts v Hibs derbies are held in the Murrayfield stadium?

I know Hearts are not in the Premier this season. But Hearts will probably get promoted this season.

So we will probably be back to having Edinburgh derbies in the Premier again, between Heart of Midlothian and Hibernian FC.

Scotland should host the World Club Cup of soccer / football.

Scotland helped football take off. Scotland held the first international game. That game was against their main rivals.

Scotland would be good place to host a World Club Cup.

It has a passionate interest in soccer, and has lots of great stadiums too hold such an important trophy.

Stadiums like Murrayfield, Hampden, Ibrox, Celtic Park, could hold the trophy.

Scottish Teams Should Join a European Super League

I think the Scottish clubs should create a European Super League before the other countries do.

If we join too late, then we will end up in the bottom tier and have to work our way up.

I like the Atlantic League idea with the big sic Scottish sides, Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Aberdeen. Dundee United, and Hibernian joining from the start.

Scotland should be at the forefront of a European Super League. So our teams start in as high a tier as possible.

The countries involved could be teams from Northern Europe, such as Scotland, Poland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Wales, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and even Russia.

With the league split into regional conferences of 16 teams in each conference. Then the conference champions playing for the title.

I would recommend anyone to watch the movie Back to the Future.

It is a very original and creative movie.

When we watched it we would imagine we were Michael J Fox playing the guitar with such passion and intensity.

It was a great movie.

My theories on accents

My theories on accents

The New York Accent

To me it sounds like a Dutch accent. New York used to be a Dutch colony and was called New Amsterdam. My theory is the New York accent sounds like a Dutch American accent. I realised this when listening to a Dutch man talking in English he sounds like a New Yorker.

The Liverpool accent

My view is that this accent is derived from the Viking accent. Remember when Jan Molby came over to play for Liverpool from Denmark. Then within 6 months he sounded like a scouser. In my view this is because the Liverpool accent is derived from Wirral vikings who were expelled from Ireland in 1000 years ago. They left a Viking accent in Liverpool.

The British Upper Class accent.

I think this is derived from the Norman French accent. The French accent sounds like the British Upper Class accent. The Normans took over England in 1066, and their elites accent dominated England for hundreds of years. This accent then spread across Scotland, and Wales after the union. So now British upper class people talk in Frenchified accent. I decided this when I was listening to the radio in another room, and thought I heard a French man talking I walked through to find a upper class man had been talking.

The USA accent

I think this is from Ulster Scots accent. Huge number of Scots emigrated to Northern Ireland then emigrated to the American colonies, in my view resulting in the America accent.

The Geordie accent

I think this is a half way house accent between the Scottish accent and the Yorkshire accent.

The Australian Accent

To me this sounds like a London accent. There must have been lots of people moving from London in the original days of the colonies.

I hope no Scottish soccer clubs go out of business.

I hope no Scottish soccer clubs go out of business.

It is important for Scotland's identity that the soccer clubs stay afloat. I want every Scottish club to stay in existence.

I do not want any Scottish football to collapse.

The clubs should be supported to give something for people to be interested in.

Football is an important part of Scotland's national; identity.

It is important the clubs have long histories, that are something to build on.

Scottish football has many clubs over 100 years old.

Scotland has a rich football history.

Both in terms of club and international football.

It Looks Like Glasgow Rangers Will Win The Scottish Title.

It looks Like Glasgow Rangers Will Win The Scottish Title Of 2021.
With half the season left Rangers are up to 20 points ahead.

It looks like Celtic will lose the title for the first time in 10 years.

The trophy will stay in Glasgow, Scotland.

It looks like the Scottish Champions of the male league in soccer will be Glasgow Rangers.

So Celtic will have done nine in a row twice. And Rangers will have done nine in a row once.

I wonder if Glasgow Rangers could win the female league this season too?

I wonder if Glasgow Rangers will get far in the Europa League this year?

That is my post today. -

Scottish Football Side Is The Priority.

Scottish Football Side Is The Priority.

The performance of the Scottish international side is the priority in football, for me.

I hope Scotland qualify for major championships, and even win some trophies.

For me, the international side is more important than the club system.

But we should still try to have as strong a club system as possible.

The next priority after the performance of the national sides is for the club sides to do well in cross border trophies such as the Champions League, and Europa League.

Let's hope Scottish football is the best on the planet.

Do Scotland proud.

Keep supporting the Scottish national side.

Thanks.
