How about making the Scottish Highland League bigger?
Highland League Expansion Idea Strategy. -
My idea would be to invite the B or colt teams of Aberdeen, Dundee United, Dundee, St Johnstone, Ross County, Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Elgin City, Peterhead and Cove Rangers into the league. Then have 2 or 3 divisions. With teams invited into the Highland League system, from the junior set up (Scottish Junior Football North Super League), and the North Caledonian League. This way the B team players at the big clubs would get practise against real clubs. And more teams and towns, would get to move up through the league system.
It would increase competition in the Scottish Highland League. The more the merrier, I say. The lower divisions could be regionalised to help with logistics. It could lead to an expansion of the Highland League Cup too. With more teams entering.
Imagine games like Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Clachnacuddin FC, Cove Rangers B v Lossiemouth, Elgin City B v Deveronvale, Dundee United B V Dundee B, Brora Rangers v Peterhead B, or Aberdeen B v Wick Academy.
