My idea would for the League of Ireland Men's Premier Division to use a play-offs to decide the national champions.

Then the second placed team would play the 3rd placed side with home advantage going to the second placed side.

Northern Ireland Football League Champions Decided By Play-Off
My idea would be for the Northern Ireland Football League Champions to be decided by Play-Offs.
My idea would be the top 3 teams qualify for the Champions Play-off, at the end of each season.
At the end of each season, the 3rd placed side would play the second placed side. With home advantage going the 2nd placed side.
The winners get to play away from home against the top placed side in the league table.
This would get good attendances and would spark TV ratings.
Play-Offs have already been used in football to decide relegation and promotion.
And in rugby league, rugby union, and ice hockey play-offs have been used.
Play-Offs To Decide Welsh-Cymru Champions.
My idea for the football Welsh-Cymru Premier, would be to have a Welsh-Cymru Premier Play-offs at the end of the season to decide the champions. This would be the top four teams in the Cymru Premier, playing a 4 team semi-final. With the top placed side in the table, getting home advantage against the fourth placed side. And the second placed side getting home advantage against the 3rd placed side.
Then the two semi-final winners play in a final, with home advantage going to the side who ended the season higher up the league table.
I think this would open up the Welsh-Cymru Premier to more champions.
It could lead to shock champions.
Play-offs have been used in football to decide promotion, and relegation. And they are used in rugby union, ice hockey, and rugby league to decide many leagues champions.
Play-Offs To Decide Scottish Premiership Champions.
I think a good way to open up the Scottish Premiership in football, would be to have Play-Offs to decide who the Scottish Champions are.
My idea would be;
At the end of each season, the top 4 Scottish Premiership sides qualify for an end of season play-offs.
There would be two semi-final games.
The top team in the table would get home advantage against the fourth placed side.
The second placed side would get home advantage against the 3rd placed side in the table.
Then the two winning semi-finalists would play against each other in the final.
With the final being one game at either Hampden, or it could be home advantage to the team who finished highest in the table of the two finalist opponents.
The reason is that no team outside of Celtic and Rangers have won the Scottish Premiership since Aberdeen in 1985.
My idea would certainly result in Non-Old-Firm teams winning the Scottish Premiership.
We already have relegation and promotion play-offs in the SPFL. So we already have play-offs to decide important outcomes.
Plus leagues in many sports have used play-offs to decide league champions. Such as rugby union, rugby league, and ice hockey.
The football World Cup champions itself is decided by a final match, not a league table.
