Durham County Cricket Team Playing Home Games In Scotland.
I think Durham County Cricket Team should play some home matches in Scotland. Perhaps, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Glasgow.
I know Durham play their normal home games in Chester-le-Street, County Durham.
I know Durham is not in Scotland. And Scotland is not in England. Durham is in England. But Scotland is a massive potential market for cricket. Lots of people follow cricket in Scotland. Plus lots of people play cricket in Scotland. So I think Durham should exploit this, and play some home games in Scotland.
But there are examples of county cricket teams playing home games outside of their county.
For instance, Glamorgan often play games in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. Colwyn Bay is not in Glamorgan. Glamorgan is in South Wales.
I think the ideal would be Scotland having a county championship team. But another idea would be for Durham to play some home games in cities like Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Aberdeen. These home games could be in the County Championship, One-Day Cups, or the Twenty20 Cups.
Durham could build support in Scotland. And historically Durham was once in Scotland. So that is an excuse for Durham to play some home games in Scotland.
