Scottish-Cymru Club Football Premier Cup.
My idea is for a Scottish-Cymru Club Football Premier Cup.A trophy involving the top 6 placed sides in the Scottish Premiership from the previous season. Plus the 4 Welsh sides in the English leagues. Plus the top 2 placed Welsh Cymru Premier sides, in the previous season.
That is 12 sides.
Then a group stage trophy, followed by a knockout round..
There would be 3 groups of four with two Welsh, and two Scottish sides in each group. The top 2 teams in each group, and the 2 best 3rd place sides would qualify for the knockout stages. There would be a quarter-final, semi-final, and final. With home advantage to the sides that have the best group stage record.
There would be clubs like Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, The New Saints, Cardiff City, Swansea City, Wrexham, and Newport County. Plus possibly others could include Aberdeen, Dundee, Heart of Midlothian, Motherwell, Kilmarnock, Hibernian, or Dundee United.
This would be a nice cross border cup played during the season.
The Old Firm are big draws internationally.
While Wrexham have a big support internationally.
Wales and Scotland are mostly on the same island, and both have lots of big football clubs.
