European Rugby Union Super League IDEA.
Would it be a good idea to have a European Rugby Union Super
League?
With a pyramid system, perhaps using the Swiss Model System.
With promotion and relegation into and out of the league system.
With a knockout trophy for teams to qualify for promotion
into the European Rugby Union Super League.
There could be 20 teams from France, 19 from England, 2 from
Scotland, 1 from Cornwall, 4 from Wales, 2 from Italy, 4 from Ireland, 1 from Georgia, 1 from
Portugal, 1 from Spain, 1 from Poland, 1 from Romania, 1 from Belgium, and 1 from Germany.
There could even be invited sides from outside Europe. Such
as 4 sides from South Africa, 1 from the USA, and 1 from Canada. Perhaps individual
franchises could be funded from Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
The champions of a European Rugby Union Super League could play the champions of the Super Rugby trophy.
There could be men's and women's European leagues.
It could allow rugby union to compete with soccer, and the big American sports.
