A Women's Coronation Cup 2023 - Football

A Women's Coronation Cup 2023 - Football -

I said in an earlier post there could be a soccer / football Coronation Cup for the Coronation of the new King Charles the Third.

Glasgow Celtic won the male football Coronation Cup in 1953 for the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

So my idea is to bring back the Coronation Cup.

But how about a Women's Coronation Cup?

We could have teams from all the realms that use King Charles III as king.

Including Scotland, Wales, England, Northern Ireland and Cornwall putting a few teams into the trophy.

There could also be teams from Commonwealth areas.

There could be teams from the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.

There could be representative or club teams from Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands, and Tuvalu.

I think a new Coronation Cup would be fun and interesting. It would be great to have more cross border cups. I think the major British club sides could enter sides in a Women's Coronation Cup. Sides like Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Glasgow City, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs and Dundee United could enter sides.

I do not support merging the British leagues. I support a best of both worlds, where we keep domestic and European football;, but also have extra cross border trophies.
