SFA Cup And League Cup Finals Tickets Should Be 50%-50% Share

I Think SFA Cup And League Cup Finals Tickets Should Be 50%-50% Share

I think as much as possible the ticket share for Scottish Cup and League Cup finals should be 50%-50% between each side.

I am not anti the Old Firm. I want Celtic and Rangers to do well in Europe. I want them to be amongst the biggest clubs in Europe. I want them to win European trophies. I see them as Scottish clubs.

But this is purely a fairness issue. The cup final should be a neutral venue. A team should not have an advantage, just because they have more fans.

Obviously if one of the teams has no chance of selling 50% of the tickets, then that should be taken into account. I understand that. There is no point in deliberately letting 40% of the tickets go to waste because of a pretence that some team can sell tickets, that they cannot really sell. I totally understand that.

And if a team cannot sell their tickets then I am OK with letting the other club buy the tickets as long as it does not affect security.

But where you can be sure each team can sell 50% of the available tickets. Then both teams should get 50% of the tickets,

Obviously some of the tickets will be given to sponsors, and officials. I understand that also. But there should be a 50%-50% share of the tickets to be given to both sides,

I do not care if Celtic or Rangers get 6 times the average attendances one of the opposing teams average attendances. It is a neutral venue. A neutral venue. And the final should reflect that totally,

And how would we like it if Scotland qualified for a major final and got less tickets because we had a smaller population, than our opponents. It should not make any difference. It is a neutral venue and the attendance should reflect that.

I know Celtic and Rangers fans would say they fill their bigger grounds more often. So loyalty should be rewarded. But how would Rangers like it if the authorities said Celtic should get more tickets because they nearly fill a 60,000 capacity stadium when Rangers just fill a approximately 50,000 capacity stadium.

Plus Celtic and Rangers get to more finals anyway, so there fans will have more opportunities to see their team.

It might be tough on loyal Celtic and Rangers fans. But a neutral venue should be reflected by the crowd.
