My New Celtic Club Cup Idea

I think male and female soccer in the Celtic lands should have Celtic Club Cups.

In this article I will focus on the male version of the suggested trophy.

The trophy could consist of all Scottish Premier sides such as Aberdeen and Dundee United, plus the big Welsh sides of Swansea City, Wrexham, Cardiff City and Newport County. Plus selected sides from the Welsh Premier and Northern Irish League and the League of Ireland. Plus one team from Cornwall and one team from the Isle of Man. Plus a few teams from Brittany.

I think Scottish football would not be damaged by doing this trophy but it would help the other Celtic nations.

The Welsh big sides would be fun for the Scottish sides to play.

Cornwall and the Isle of Man, are perfectly big places, that have decent sized clubs by Scottish standards.

Ireland has some sleeping giants.

Brittany has some big clubs.

This would be a fun cross border trophy.

It would see some great travels for the fans. It would have some great cross border games.

The vast majority of teams in the trophy would need to be professional sides.

It could be a group stage trophy followed by a single leg knockout stages, leading to a final.

There could be invited teams from other countries also.

The final could be played at one of the two finalist's stadiums.

Imagine games like Aberdeen v Wrexham, Cardiff City v Glasgow Celtic and Glasgow Rangers v Swansea City. And other big games.
