It was the first league match between the two teams, this century.

Polworth and Cameron scored for Kilmarnock.

The game was played at Rugby Park, the home of Kilmarnock FC.

The game was in the Scottish second tier, known as the Scottish Championship.

Kilmarnock are one of the favourites for the Scottish second tier title, this season.

Killie have a bigger stadium than Ayr United, in terms of capacity.

It was an intense, passionate game.

Aberdeen 2 Dundee United 0 August 2021 SPFL.

Aberdeen made a winning start to the Scottish Premiership, on Sunday with an impressive 2-0 home win against New Firm rivals Dundee United.

The SPFL saw Aberdeen FC win with goals from Irish player Hayes, and American player Ramirez.

Aberdeen will be delighted with their start to the season.

Also in the opening weekend of the season Rangers beat Livingston, and Hibernian beat Motherwell.

Dundee drew with St Mitten, and Ross County drew with St Johnstone.

On Friday night Hearts defeated Glasgow Celtic in Edinburgh.

This could be an open and exciting season in the Scottish Premiership.

Heart of Midlothian performed a major upset in defeating Glasgow Celtic 2-1 at Tynecastle on the opening night of the 2021-22 Scottish Premier.

Mackay-Steven and Souttar scored for Hearts.

While Ralston scored a good gaol for Celtic.

Hearts were newly promoted. While Celtic had won 9 of the last 10 Scottish titles.

It was an impressive result for Heart of Midlothian on their first outing back in the Scottish Premiership.

It shows the Scottish league can be competitive.
