Here is an idea for a new Welsh trophy. A football / soccer cup.
The champions of the Welsh-Cymru Premier play a one leg final against the highest placed Welsh side in the English leagues.
This could be played at the stadium of a participating team.
With the host venue being on a rota, where the Welsh Cymru Champions host one year, then the next the highest placed Welsh side in the English league host the game. And repeat.
Finals could be like Swansea City v The New Saints, Wrexham v Connah's Quay Nomads, Cardiff City v Bala Town, or Colwyn Bay v Newport County.
Some would desire a 1-leg final, played at a neutral venue.
Some might want a two-leg final with home and away games.
Northern Irish - Welsh Cymru Super Cup.
I think there should be a football trophy called the Northern Irish - Welsh Cymru Super Cup.
It could be played between the champions of the Northern Irish League, and the champions of the Welsh Cymru Premier.
It could be a one-leg final, played at a participating team's stadium. With the host nation swapping each season. With the host stadium being the home stadium, of one of the participating sides.
So one year it would be hosted by the Welsh-Cymru Premier champions, the next by the champions of the Northern Irish league.
Maybe even the Welsh place could be taken by the highest placed Welsh side in the English leagues?
It could be a two-leg final.
This could be done at male and female football.
Irish Super Cup Of Football.
I think there should be a Irish Super Cup of football / soccer.
The game would be between the champions of the Northern Irish League, and the champions of the League of Ireland Premier Division.
The League of Ireland is predominantly based in the Republic of Ireland.
While Northern Ireland also has a league with teams like Linfield, and Glentoran.
My idea would be a 1-leg final.
With the host stadium being a home stadium of one of the participating teams.
With the league of the host team stadium swapping each season.
So one year the League of Ireland Premier Division champions host the final. The next year the Northern Irish league champions host the final. And so on.
It could just be a 2-leg final. But I think a 1-leg final would mean less fixture congestion than a 2-leg final.
I know there was a Champions Cup in 2019, between the League of Ireland Champions, and the NIFL Premiership champions. But this could be a 1-leg annual final.

My idea is for the Forfarshire Cup, to be restructured as a group stage trophy.
With teams from Forfarshire, and the surrounding region.
The higher tier sides could enter their B sides. While lower tier sides, non-league sides, university sides, and junior sides could enter their first teams.
This way the big teams would get a chance to give youth, and fringe players game time. While the local lower tier sides would get more local derby matches.
Also the cup could invite teams from nearby regions as guest sides. Like sides from Aberdeenshire, Lothian, Aberdeen City, Fife, and Stirlingshire.
Lothian Football Shield - Group Stage Trophy.
My idea is for a new football trophy called the Lothian Football Shield.
This would have the B teams of Scottish Premiership sides from the Lothian region. Plus the first teams of Lothian based SPFL lower tier sides, Lothian based non-league sides, Lothian based Scottish Junior sides, and the first teams of Lothian based universities.
The trophy would be a group stage trophy, followed by a knockout stage.
This would give game time to young, and fringe players, at the higher tier clubs, and also local derby matches for Lothian sides.
Also the Lothian Football Shield could invite guest sides from nearby regions.
Sides in the trophy could include Heart of Midlothian B, Hibernian B, Livingston B, and lower tier, non-league, university, and junior sides.
Yorkshire God's Own Country Cup - Football.
My idea is for a Yorkshire based football cup called the God's Own Country Cup.
Other names could be the Yorkshire English Shield. Acronym YES, or the Yorkshire Cup of Football.
The idea is all the Yorkshire based English Premier League, and Yorkshire based English Football League sides enter their B sides.
While also the first teams of Yorkshire based non-league sides, and local university sides enter the trophy.
The trophy would have the North, West, and East Ridings.
It could be a group stage trophy followed by a knockout stage. Or a simple knockout stages trophy?
Teams in the trophy could include Leeds United B, Middlesbrough B, Sheffield Wednesday B, Sheffield United B, Hull City B, Harrogate Town B, Huddersfield Town B, Barnsley B, York City, Leeds University, Bradford University, Stocksbridge Park Steels, York University.
The trophy could also invite as guest sides teams from nearby regions.
This could give more game time to fringe and young players at big clubs. And it would give local derby matches for the fans.
English County Senior Cup Group Stages and Expansion. -
My idea is that English football should use their county cups, and regional cups like the Birmingham Senior Cup, Northumberland Senior Cup, Liverpool Senior Cup, and London Challenge Cup, and other county or regional cups as a way to increase the number of local derbies, and to give games for the big side's B teams against first teams of smaller sides.
So the local English Premier League sides, and local English Football League sides would enter B sides. While local non-league sides, and local university sides would enter those same county cups.
But the County Cups would have group stages, followed by knockout rounds, to give game time to young, and fringe players, at big clubs. While the local non-league sides would get local derby games against smaller and bigger teams.
Perhaps even expansion to allow clubs from nearby regions to enter the trophies as guest sides?
Perhaps there could also be super cups played between the winners of each County Cup?
Like a Manchester - Liverpool Super Cup, played between the winners of the Manchester Senior Cup, and Liverpool Senior Cup.
This refers to England. But Scotland, Ireland, and Wales could do the same.
Also do the same with Scottish, Irish, and Welsh cups based on the local counties in Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. With the counties in the Scottish, Northern Irish, Republic of Ireland, and Welsh nation's County Cup having group stages, B teams, non-league sides, lower tier sides, university sides, and guest side expansions, and perhaps Super Cups between different County Cup winners.
Perhaps Ireland could have provincial cups each with the B teams of top sides, the first teams of non-league, lower tier first team sides, and the first teams of university sides represented?

But how about making one of both of them group stage trophies.
In the 2025-26 season, the participants of the Aberdeenshire Cup were Aberdeen, Banks o’ Dee, Buckie Thistle, Deveronvale, Dyce, Formartine United, Fraserburgh, Hermes, Huntly, Inverurie Loco Works, Keith, and Turriff United.
Aberdeen won the Aberdeenshire Cup Final against Formartine United.
At present it is a knockout trophy.
My idea is that the Aberdeenshire Cup, or Aberdeenshire Shield becomes a group stage trophy.
Perhaps with 3 groups of 4. With each team playing home and away against the other 3 teams in their group in the group stages.
With the top 2 teams in each group, and two best 3rd placed sides qualifying for the quarter-final. There is then a straight knockout trophy with single leg quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final.

I Would Like Kjetil Knutsen To Be Glasgow Rangers Manager.
Now that Russell Martin is not the Head Coach at Glasgow Rangers.
I would like Kjetil Knutsen to be Glasgow Rangers new boss. Kjetil Knutsen has done an amazing job at Norwegian club side Bodø/Glimt. He has had relative success domestically and in European football.
I do not know if he would leave a Norwegian football club for a Scottish club. But if I was Rangers I would try and get him as their new boss.
I also have other ideas for who could do the job.
I think Derek McInnes, Gareth Southgate, Graham Potter, Barry Ferguson, David Gray, Callum Davidson, Stuart Kettlewell, and Sean Dyche could also be good Glasgow Rangers managers. Some of them have jobs at other clubs. So it might be difficult to get them in as Rangers manager. Some of them might want to be Rangers manager. Some might not.

The League Phase has 10 Scottish Premiership B sides, 10 Scottish League 1 sides, and 10 Scottish League 2 sides.
At present Inverness Caledonian Thistle are top of the League Phase.
My idea is there should be a trophy called the Scottish Challenge Cup League Phase Trophy.
I know there is a trophy for the Final of the knockout stages, where the winning team is given a trophy. But I think there should be an extra small trophy for the League Phase, additionally.
